Ouch!  Tough inning.  It will be interesting to see how PNG responds.  I think they will fight their way back into it.  i would be surprised if Leckich isn't in for the 2nd inning.  He has been the hot hand lately.
Ashworth started the 2nd
 12. Mengden is legit.  He has been great all year if only the Ags could hit when he pitches.
 13.

ANy info on Furr???  Record, pitching, etc?
15-11 overall and 12-0 in district.
They play in the Houston ISD district.  The other 2 playoff teams from their district were Washington and Scarbough.  In their 1st round matchups Scarbough lost a 1 gamer 21-1 and Washington lost 2 games by scores of 19-1 and 20-1.  That should tell you a little about how bad that district is.
 14.
i heard today sweent's catcher is out with a broken hand
I heard that also, but not sure if it is true.  Some people have him projected as a 1st round draft pick. These are his stats this year through 24 games. Corey Simpson-  .578, 10HR, 11 doubles,  16BB/5K's,  .659 OBP,  1.183 slg That would be a huge loss
 15.

in theory what the UIL and maxpreps are trying to do is a good idea. it just dont seem like they have the coaches on board yet. most coaches dont have the time or the desire to mess with logging in stats and scores. unless the UIL forces the coaches to turn in data it will not work.
Most coaches have quit using maxpreps and are using gamechanger.
Very cool site!  I see why they don't use maxpreps anymore
It's a very good site and they even have an app that is very good.  You can get scores to almost any game across the country.  I just wish it was free and you didn't have to pay to see stats.
 16. That's going to really hurt their recruiting......
 17.

I really like the 1 game winner-take all schedule for this year's PN-G team. Georgetown will be tough.
Just wondering why you made this comment.  Anything can happen in an one game playoff (see Dayton vs Nederland - good thing it wasn't an one game playoff).  PNG has many good pitchers and I would think a three-game series would be to their benefit.
LeDoux has been hurt and isn't back to 100%.  He threw 2 inning last series so hopefully he is getting better.  Ashworth is more of a reliever/closer than a starter.  Coach Brevell is doing what he thinks gives his team the best chance to win and advance to the next round.
 18.
Why in the world would Brenham schedule their prom smack dab in the middle of the playoffs? Were they not planning on still being in the playoffs? Come on now! Don't tell me that prom is a "school event" and the baseball program has no say so on when it is held. This is Brenham we're talking about here.
Graduations and Prom are part of it this time of year.  The coaches know that and schedule around it.  It's the same way every year and the coaches figure out ways to deal with it.  Hence the Thursday, Friday, early Saturday schedule in this series.
 19. It's never good when the announcer has to ask the fans for applause coming into the 12th round.
 20. Unnofficial scoring has Mayweather up 89-82 after 9 rounds
