Intramural Frat Kid to the rescue! [Hidden Content]

Gotta love when Barry starts taking his shots. Charlie Weak! 😄 From sip# quote: Former Oklahoma Sooners and Dallas Cowboys head coach Barry Switzer was on Dallas-Fort Worth radio station 105.3 FM 'The Fan' on Thursday evening and was asked about the Longhorns football team and new head coach Charlie Strong. Switzer had a variety of negative things to say, including calling Strong 'Charlie Weak' and describing the Texas offense as "terrible." With that said, Switzer did add that he admires Strong and had high praise for Texas sophomore quarterback Tyrone Swoopes. Here is what Switzer had to say: "Well it's down to Charlie Weak right now. They got problems, but I admire him for being old school. He got seven guys who didn't want to believe in what he asked them to do and he got rid of their ass. And that's the thing to do. I don't know what kind of uproar would have been made if I'd been coaching there or Jackie Sherrill or Freddy Akers had done something like that, but he got away with it and I admire him and I'm glad he can. I think it just takes time and I know he's a good a football coach hell, he's from Arkansas, that's why about 70 miles from where I grew up. So he's got problems because of talent base. All that you fiction writers always said that Texas recruited the best players that were and ranked them up there one, two ,three in the country well they're not as quite as good maybe as some of the others and maybe they're just coaching better. I know they coach good at Baylor and I know they coach good at Oklahoma. But anyway, we'll find out but it's going to take some time. I hope they give him some time." " I don't live in their house, it's difficult to talk to about someone when you don't live in their own damn house and know what's going on. But I just see and look and know and talk to other people and have my own opinions and evaluate things about what's in play. They played hard the other night. They tried hard on defense. They're not very good on offense. They're terrible on offense. I tell you what, the quarterback, I like the quarterback they put out the other night. Kid's got potential. He's got a chance to be a good one big, fast, strong. Hell, he can go out how many freshmen, rookies go out there the first time and go 7-for-7? Not many can do it."

Maybe he still has BYU on his mind?

I'm anxious to see that. It may be blasphemous to say this, but I prefer show bands.
-
I actually watched the game. UH looked better

Mizzou won Big 12 North titles in 2007, 2008, and 2010 which is 2 more division titles than Texas has in that same time span. I hate when facts get in the way of a good story.

I like ole Red. Eventually he is going to pull a Donald Sterling, I just hope someone catches it on tape. [Hidden Content]

It's Week 3!!! There is still a lot of football to be played and it always works itself out in the end. College Football Live yesterday was saying that a 1 loss Michigan State team would get into the playoffs before an unbeaten Baylor team. I guess we will see.

Would you sit idle and let other people make money off of your sons name?

Briles 46 wins- 32 losses = .590 win % Sumlin 22 wins- 6 losses = .790 win % in a real conference.
-
You keep leaving out years that Briles has been there. He started coaching at Baylor in 2008 not 2010 or 2011. I was responding to your comment that Briles has dominated the Big 12, which isn't really true. He dominated the Big 12 last year except for that 32 point loss to Okie Lt in Stillwater.
-
Briles started at Baylor in 2008. This is his conference record since he has been there. He's had one good season which Baylor finished ranked 13th in the country. 2008: 2-6 2009: 1-7 2010: 4-4 2011: 6-3 2012: 4-5 2013: 8-1

UCLA hasn't looked great so far. Texas defense played pretty well for a half against BYU until they fell apart in the 3rd quarter. Shawn Watson's offense is horrible though. Bet the farm on UCLA -7.
-
I would think they would may way more at home games. 100,000 fans X $50 minimum ticket price = $5 mil + concessions and everything else. I'm not a big fan of the neutral site games. Maybe the 10 yr deal A&M is stuck with against Arkansas has something to do with that.

You have to admit that Gold Trans Am was pretty sweet.

BYU @ The University of Texas

I dvr'd the game and am just sitting down to watch it. This should be fun. -
Taysom Hill could get an invite to NY as a Heisman finalist. He's a heck of a player.
-
BYU will not play a Top 25 team this year. They shouldn't get in.
-
They don't play nearly the schedule that Notre Dame does every year. They should go unbeaten this year and shouldn't make the playoffs since they will have zero quality wins.

Vints is absolutely perfect for his new job! "So he's going around to high schools talking about going to college and what UT has to offer and this is what he posts on his facebook quote: In Dallas today talking to South Oak Cliff High School to help them get to collage something I love to do and blessed to be a spoke person for them.HookEm DDCE family stand up!!!!!!"

It didn't take Gus Malzahn long at Auburn. He took over a 3-9 team and in his 1st year they finished 12-2 ranked #2 in the country and nearly won a national title. I guess some purges take longer than others.
