I think you will start seeing this more as the Power 5 separates themselves even more from the little guys. Other sports have done it for years this is just the first time football has done it.
I don't know. There isn't much info out there on him as a baseball player. He hasn't hit the summer Perfect Game circuit like most top players. Some of the things I've read say he is a great athlete that if he stuck with baseball could be a very good player. I just wonder if he wasn't a top foitball player you would even hear his name mentioned in the MLB. All it takes is 1 team to take a chance on what I consider to be a project.
McNeal has personally said that the first play of the year will go to him. Kyler being the starter Day 1 isn't a stretch considering the other qbs on the team are brutal, but I still don't think the other players on the team will be happy with the coach guaranteeing starting jobs to players who havent even stepped on the practice field yet.
I do think if he can somehow flip Kyler then dominoes will fall and Texas will get Lodge, Mack, Holton Hill, and Boyd and end up with a Top 5 class in the country. A lot rides on the Aggie Legacy.
So far Charlie has offered the starting job to Murray and promised McNeal the first play of the season will be a pass to him. What do they offer Mack?
I love how Charlie is tough and the players have to earn everything. That is unless you are a big time recruit.
He gone

Kevin Murray drove them. I'm about 50/50 Kyler ends up at A&M, but he won't go to Texas. Oregon, OU, and others are ahead of them in the Kyler sweepstakes.
A&M needs to get a back up QB if Kyler doesn't come. They will be in big trouble if Kyle Allen gets hurt with all of the QB transfers they have had the last few years.
Harbaugh is doing work already

I think he still has to apply for a waiver and it will be up to the ncaa to decide. A few years ago Brandon Williams transfered to A&M from OU to be closer to his newborn son. The NCAA denied him and he sat a year. Isn't the NCAA just great?
Go back and look at stars and what percentage of each play in the NFL. 5 stars aren't the be all end all but the recruiting services are right more times than not and there is data to back that up.
Georgia Tech is a unique team with their offense that most teams never see. The reason Florida State plays Citadel every year is so they can see that offense and prepare for GTech later in the year.
Must be that SEC bias again
