Notes of Interest: -Last year’s eventual national champion, Ohio State, debuted at No. 16 in the first CFP poll a year ago. -Only one of the eventual top four teams last year (No. 2 Florida State) was in the top four in the inaugural poll, validating the fluidity of these rankings. -One of the “Group of Five” conference teams is guaranteed a spot in a New Year’s Six bowl. No. 20 Boise State represented the little guys admirably last year with a victory over No. 10 Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl. -Memphis, Houston and Toledo remain the only three unbeaten “Group of Five” schools after Temple's loss to Notre Dame Saturday night.

The first Top 4 will be released tonight at 6. Who are your Top 4?

Decent game tonight at 7 on ESPN2 Northern Illinois at #20 Toledo Something to watch after the selection show. Should be a good game for a Tuesday

Polls don't mean squat and never have in basketball. On the other hand, football polls have been deciding who wins national titles for 100 years. I'm confused

None of know what went on with the negotiations, but there are Rumors out there that Patterson could have gotten the school in a legal mess by tampering with UA while under contract with Nike. Also UA's deal supposedly involved stock options based on speculation while Nike had the cash.

@kbohls I'm told Charlie Strong "cussed out" his Texas staff after Iowa State loss, told them staff "had been out coached." Core Values?

The Texas offense is ranked 118. Should be a great battle with that 128th ranked D from Kansas.

What exactly is the purpose of basketball polls?

If the Panthers win tonight, the Houston Texans will be tied for 1st place in the AFC South.

If Barrett has been a full time student for at least a year then he has established residency in Ohio and there would be no out of state. TJMoe doesn't know what he is talking about.

Can Texas score 29 points to cover that spread? It opened at -32

I like that Indiana upset also. That's why I included it on the list.

Most people only saw they last play, so that is what is being talked about. As for ESPN bashing Miami, all I have heard is them speak the truth. Their recruiting area is the best in the country, but they are a small private school, with no fan base, and outdated facilities. A good coach can win big there, but big name coaches aren't knocking down the door for that job.

Most people assumed Bud Foster was the head coach in waiting. I guess not according to that article.

Both have pretty good test this week. They don't want to get caught looking ahead. Houston host Cincinatti and Memphis host Navy. Both should be good games.
