6/30/2010 2:42:43 PM Three Texas Sun Devils pitchers combined for a 1-hitter in a 3-1 win over the Freshwater Storm.  The Storm's only hit was a leadoff single in the top of the first inning and only one runner reached base after than, on a throwing error. LHP Chaz Hebert (2011, Breaux Bridge, LA) pitched the first 3 innings for the Sun Devils, striking out 5 hitters.  The 6-2, 180 southpaw was consistently in the 87-89 mph area with his fastball.  He was relieved by 2010 Oregon State signee RHP Dan Child, who threw a quick 2 innings with his 89-92 mph sinker and sharp 82 mph slider.  The Sun Devils then  brought in 2011 SS Jace Conrad to close and Conrad retired 6 consecutive hitters with an 87 mph fastball and 74 mph curveball. We will get to see a lot of new faces around the district next year, including a new coach.  Most of 20-4a's top pitchers all graduated.  Names like Bellow, Hester, Laird, Sweetenham, Reyenga, and Waddell will all be gone next year. What names should we look for to get most of the innings on the mound next year?

Stone has been talking for years about going into administration.  Sad to see him go though, not many coaches in Texas can match his resume.  Good Luck in your future Coach, and enjoy getting to watch Austin play his senior year.

IMO Orangefield is the better team, but anything can happen in a 3 game series.  Good luck to both teams.  Should be an exciting series.
