This is a sports thread that's suppose to be about high school football. Being politically correct is fine but, there has been a line drawn in the sand. I'm riding with Ozen football for the same reason I ride with Central basketball, I have family in those programs. I say if Suggs feed his RBs the ball, then the Panthers make the playoffs and beat Central this season!

Boyd is head and shoulders better at QB than Jacquet. Hell the Central faithful wanted Jacquet replaced at QB towards the end of last season. Randle and Tyler are both better RBs than Whaley's two fumbles a game self. Plus his offers are to play defense. I was referring to J. Brown being a inside slot WR. Central only had one WR last year and he's about to graduate. And Smith could definitely play Center for the Jaguars since Coach Taylor was the one grooming him for that position when he was at Ozen. Central will be good this year and I wish them well but, they aren't as loaded as some would have us believe. And, the Jaguars are very beatable!

let's not get carried away here.  west orange stark has some very good athletes but the university of texas and coach strong are not worried about what people from west orange stark think.  its the university of texas for goodness sake.  recruits come to them more than they search for recruits. 
 
i looked at the longhorns current roster.  here are some numbers:
 
98 players on the roster
 
83 from the state of texas
 
1 from the golden triangle (2 if you count cleveland, texas as part of the triangle)
 
0 from west orange stark
 
hell, theres a player from scotland and from saudi arabia on the roster.
 
 
no disrespect meant to the players or coaches west orange stark, but the texas longhorns and coach strong will be just fine with or without west orange stark.

Wow, so coach Strong's future and Texas' success depends on whether or not they offer a transfer kid in WOS football program! GTFOH... Thomas is great! Thompson is a future great! But, WOS isn't the end all be all in High school football. All those D1 athletes only translates to wins in that weak district. Smh....

I noticed of the five starters whom you feel couldn't start at Central, you left 1 name off. We aren't supposed to mention names, but you know who I'm referring to. Not only would he start @ Central, there are a few others he would star at. My Wife spoke with Toby @ the Board Thurs night. Even he knows. If Suggs gives him the ball, the new 20 4A will feel the pain; I Guarantee it. Good luck on the upcoming Season Jags. This will be the end of the road for a lot of the kids we saw grow up right before us from all area Schools. I'm pumped up already. Time to see what the future holds in the Spring

It seems like everyone else is making a big deal of these Not WOS..

I agree that you don't want to burn bridges...but how is it the fault of coach strong? He has to put his own spin on what is now his recruiting class. It would be different if Mack were still there and pulled it. But in today's world of win now attitude in bigtime college athletics, if Strong didnt see Shaw capable of playing and contributing for Texas I don't see a major problem with it. He has the right to evaluate kids and do as he feels best for his program.

Here's a question: What does interim mean to you guys?? I thought that meant you took on the Role as if you were in charge?? If so, it should have business as usual right??  SMH  Don't want to go any further into detail, but you catch my drift <_<

BISD finds a way to mess up again. 2-3 years from now Ozen will be looking for yet another head coach. How hard is it to hire a good head coach

They dont even know who will be their QB. I think it will be hard for them to replace what they lost on the defensive side of the ball, that interior is gone.

If that was the case I wouldn't want Toby Foreman as the coach. Beaumont ISD pays three coaches $90,000 each. With up to $180,000 to spend they would have their pick of any coach in the state. Sorry but, Foreman wouldn't get the job!

How is that? Someone mentioned close to a hundred will be indicted. I think it was a few isolated individuals.

If we're going to be technical, every offense has different formations in which you run the same plays out of. But, what it seems like you're trying to say is having multiple philosophies on offense which in my opinion would definitely not work. No team has enjoyed sustainable success switching offensive disciplines all the time. The coach would more than likely confuse his own players more than the opposing defense. Execution would be like it was under PS3, nonexistent!

He needs to give the school district their money back. ;)

Ozen is as talented as you can be at the skills positions. Their issues will be line play on both sides of the ball and overall depth. They need to stay in a spread offense and run out of it. The o-line will not allow them to overpower any team, so spreading the defense out is almost a necessity. The Panthers offense should be about getting Rodney and Calvin into space and letting them do their thing. That combined with some timely passing and scrambling from Josh would make Ozen's offense pretty hard to stop. I just hope the new coach teaches execution. PS3 had multiple formations and a 1000 plays but, never taught the kids to execute 1 properly!
