  1. Congrats to Crouch and his coaching staff... the excitement in returning in Bear country. Thanks....
  2. tarkington IS that bad... B-A-D Trust me. I had no dog in that fight. I just went out to see some football... and it was bad. Orangefield does have a great offense. Tarkington never knew who had the ball... as a fan, half the time I couldn't even tell who had the ball! Good luck Bobcats... and the FG was impressive. jf was OF playing THAT GOOD?!? or is Tarkington just honestly not that great this year? (i dont know anything about them, just curious what yalls opinions are) but none the less!! great job OF!!!
  3. Crouch is a class act... LCM definitely did right with that hire.
  4. can someone post the scores from last night? thanks, jf
  5. if you are going to post that remark, you should back it up with some facts... i doubt the bear coaches would be disrespectful or put up with any disrespect by their players.
  6. "coach crouch, got the playbook frrom his locker at west oange its been said. (ALL FIVE PLAYS) but this is a good thing i hope for the kids there at lc-m.all i can say is the kids better GET READY to RUN RUN RUN RUN becouse coach crouch WILL EXCEPT these kids to be in (SHAPE). this is one of the things i like about randy, you MUST BE in SHAPE to play on his team and i like that.there is NO place on his team for lazy layed back kids, we all saw this at wo-s and most not all liked it,coach hooks made copies opf his playbook lol lol lol just kidding, just kidding . its going to be fun to watch how meny moms and dads that will haft to stay behind the fence during practice time ,coach crouch dose not take no bull from no one parents are the school board " skipper, i love reading your posts, but i honestly have to read each and every one about 5 times to actually decipher them.... :D
  7. congrats to scotty wells and his family on his new job at commerce high school... he was one of the applicants for the LCM job... I wish him the best and if you click on the link below you can see a nice picture of him and his family ( wife, formerly Anna Brent, was an LCM grad as well )... [Hidden Content]
  8. any word yet on who Crouch is bringing with him ( if anyone )???
  9. the zane kid that pitched most of the game for wos did a great job... congrats. very impressive. physically, the bear team is "huge". other than maybe the second baseman, every starter has some size. jf
  10. hey coop, can you confirm where the game is going to be? I heard from someone at LCM today that it is NOT going to be at LCM. That it was mistakenly reported before being confirmed. jf
  11. I can imagine being A.D. is a very tiresome job... but it was very refreshing to see Coach Crouch at the game last night. Just my opinion, but I think the ad should be at as many events he can possibly make... including periodic visits to the junior high events.
  12. ok... i'm going to show my ignorance. why in the world would anyone open the season with an open week? since its not district, shouldn't we be able to schedule a game?? ??? ???
  13. 1. my little league coach would drink beer while hitting us infield... true story. 2. got hit in my right testicle by a line drive while pitching a game for my son's 8 year old team ( in front of a crowd! ) 3. don't watch MLB on television until October 4. had a high school teammate that used leather work gloves as batting gloves 5. hit .485 my senior year.... not really sorry, but I still can't get over number 1
  14. As an Lcm alum and parent, I must say I was disappointed at the showing tonight. There was a crowd at the beginning of the meeting, but those of us there to support Crouch quickly found out most were there because their kids were being recognized for well deserved awards ( band, art, etc. ). As their children were recognized, most parents left with their children before Crouch was presented to the board. To be fair though, I am not sure the event was well publicized. I would have thought however, that the majority of the school's athletes would have been there to show their support. I will say this though... after reading several interviews in the local papers where Coach Crouch mentioned his faith and after speaking with him in person tonight, THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THE LCM ATHLETIC PROGRAM IS IN GOOD HANDS. Good luck Coach and may God bless you and your endeavors! Peace, Jesusfreak
  15. bbdad, we set one up for Sunday... the tournament folded with the 10u division.
  16. We have a 10U team in the orange area looking for a scrimmage this weekend... ( 7th / 8th )... we are flexible, just trying to get some playing time in... if you have a 10u team that would be interested at a future date, let me know as well.
  17. can someone explain to us non png fans who indian ken is? i am guessing he was a big fan/supporter of png football?
  18. as I was looking on the springtownisd website to make sure it is the same scotty wells, I came across these photos... how nice it would be for any school in this area to have an indoor practice facility like this one... I am sure there are better ones... but i just happened to run across these.... [Hidden Content]
  19. Scotty Wells graduated from LCM in the early to mid 80's. He is on the top row, 4th from the right in the photo below: A very good man... married to the former Anna Brent ( Fred's sister ). [Hidden Content]
  20. "1. How important is it that the Athletic Director/Head Football Coach (candidate) be honest and of high moral character and integrity?" Sometimes in life, people ask questions that really do not need to be asked...
  21. All this talk about "experience" made me think of a man named Lawrence Frank. If you haven't read his story, you might want to take a look. This is the guy coaching the NBA's New Jersey Nets. The same guy that not only did NOT play college basketball, but did NOT even make his high school team. The same guy that starting coaching in the NBA at age 33. The same guy that set the NBA record for the most consecutive wins by a head coach just beginning his coaching career ( 13 ). Granted, picking someone with experience increases your odds of hiring the right guy; BUT, as has been said many times on this thread: Experience does not necessary equal success.... and vice versa: someone with a short resume could be a great fit. I really don't have an opinion one way or the other... I just hope the "board" genuinely considers each coach that applies... it would be a big mistake ( in my opinion ) to make up your mind early in the process and not seriously examen each candidate. Also, I would second the notion that some great coaches coach on "lower levels" ; not because they HAVE to , but because the choose to. They choose to spend more time with their family or maybe they think they can have a larger impact on the lives of the younger kids. Coaching and teaching are two jobs that many of us do NOT put enough value on. Many of these guys/gals spend more hours per week with the kids then their own parents do! God bless, jesusfreak
  22. ditto to everything said by Mr. Dallas. I can attest for his integrity. on a lighter note, I almost made him cuss once: when I beat him in HORSE playing driveway basketball.
  23. no matter what words are said, it is illegal to respond to words with physical violence. there is no defense for whoever touched who first... i will say this though against the "lifetime ban." I hope those involved think long and hard before they hand out that sentence. you are saying the man cannot even coach his own grandkids... should that time arise. I have seen this same thing happen in baseball when a very unfortunate incident occurred ( tempers flared and a minor altercation occurred between two coaches ). One of those coaches also received a lifetime ban... and I think that is the knee jerk response. But come on...lifetime? even murderers don't always get a life sentence. Consider a 5 year or even 10 year ban... but lifetime is ridiculous to me. But as TD says, that just my opinion.
  24. I wouldnt get too excited...png purple has only scored three td's all year. very young team.... out of 17 kids on the team 15 are returners to this team next year...all but 3 has never played tackle football before...so 54-0 on this team learning is not a real big deal. Do it next year with this lil team returning 15 kids...then get excited. Don't be mad with WOS people, you should be upset with your own league officials. You see that is simply the result of stacking one team. Let's see, one team is undefeated and loaded with experience, while the other has not won, and has only scored three touchdowns the entire year. Not to mention only three players with experience. I have a question, "How do you get a coach to buy in own this"? Your quote really said a lot. Thanks Cherokee!!!! funny stuff....
