Not exactly what I would have hoped for. I know New Caney dominated this Spring Woods team on the stat sheet, but SW returned like 4 fumbles for td's to win the game. New Caney got dominated by Dayton. The transitive property of football does not always work, but I was still hoping for more from Lee at this point. Going to have to beat a good team or two to make the playoffs.
you doing better than Sterling, yall ok. ;)
NS and LP are still a toss up for the #1 spot, with PAM in 3rd. If the playoffs were to start now, based simply on the way we've played, I would give the 4th spot to DP. We need to improve on so many phases of the game, just to be competitive, right now.
I saw DP play, they will not make the playoffs. LP cant stop an average spread offense, dont see them even coming close to beating NS or PAM lol.

Where is all that depth their fans is talking about?
if you care to read the article, some starting players were sick due to a stomach bug and didn't play or saw limited action smh...dont question a team about depth when they have two jv teams and two freshman teams...and a varsity. also had the largest number of players come out for football @ 240+ followed by nederland @210 or 220.
that's what i am saying..you have the best depth in the area. How can there be a headline like that.
Consider the fact that the headline came from the "PA NEWS" and you'll understand.
Bingo!!!
Honesty, this is rock bottom. We lost to a school that had about 16 or 17 suited up players. Although both defenses played lights out, WO-S did just enough to win on offense. Which is good for them. Us? 2 trips in the red zone with NO points to show for it, receivers dropping passes (with the exception of G. Mitchell), offensive linemen that don't know how to block, and finally, 'staff' that couldn't year open a wet paper bag without the help of an Instruction manual. Those guys didn't have depth at all. We threw no screen passes. We lined up in the I formation. ONCE. We Throw a slant pass for a gain of 10 yards, never to go back to it again. We run an option. Play that hadn't worked in 3 years and counting. WO-S got their first first down with 3 mins left in the first half. You should win games when your defense is fired up line that. But once again, our staff finds a way to bungle that up. There's NO reason at all to be shut out at home by a team that has 75% of it's team going both ways. He stings will do great in that district, but they better shore that offense up and get creative, or it'll be an early playoff exit again. Central, Catch the passes for crying out loud and it'll be a lot easier. You may even be able to run the ball decently for a change. At the rate we're going, we'll get the last spot at best. And that's only because our district is so top heavy.
whoa :o

PAM/port arthur has placed more players in the nfl and major d1 schools than ANY town/city in the triangle, since you want to go there. wos is a shell of the old days. hooks was wos. now they can only hoist district championships over the likes of orange field, bridge city,etc...wooww tough district ::)
Hooks? You really don't get it. All we do is win. I didn't say we cut people. They quit. They go elsewhere to play. That's a fact. Thanks for making my argument for me. Like I said, you guys have done less with more actual talent. THAT'S my point. P.S. Don't disrespect Kevin Smith like that. You clearly must be a Cowboys hater too, lol ;)
you could also say the football program has done more with the talent with less coaching pre-coach harrison years ;)

If you're Beaverton (Ore.) Aloha High senior running back Thomas Tyner, you run for a state single-game record 643 yards and an absolutely astounding 10 touchdowns in a single game … then watch as your team's defense scrambles to hold on to an early season win.
PAM fans didnt bring us into the fold some of your guys did. WO-S better concentrate on their 3A opponents cause your success hasn't been to stellar if you ask me. I thought you guys would dominate 3A.
Yeah, and I thought throwing all the potential from TJ and Lincoln together would surely result in immediate success, but you guys somehow have managed to screw that up huh? We were the smallest 5A when we started this 3 decade donkey-stomp and we have always played teams bigger than us. Somehow we still have the best winning percentage in the state of Texas. Proof is in the pudding. Aren't you one of the same jawjackers that was coming on here talking about how Central would stomp us with all that speed and depth you guys squeaked by?
I was thinking the same thing, Judex. PAM has never had top notch coaching to make them a consistent winner. With the current formula, they will have the occassional big year with a few disappointing ones wrapped around them. If you assigned the WO-S coaching staff to the PAM football team, that would be a ferocious program.
Since Coach Harrison took over PAM has gotten better each year, look at the records. Numbers dont lie. 8)
