  1.

From what I have read he was just an asst coach there.  I also heard he got in trouble at Hillsboro and Marble Falls where he was asked to leave.  Any truth to those things?

He left Hillsboro where he posted a 4-25 record. He resigned to take the DC job at Marble Falls. He did not get into any trouble.

He moved onto Perryton as the AD/HC after that.

Hillsboro is a revolving door for coaches

  2. "They were the better team today," Krenek said. "But, I believe if it was a double-elimination tournament we would come back and win the whole thing out of the loser's bracket."

  3. was Mark Byrd a assistant coach at Newton about 20 years ago.

This is the hidden content, please

Byrd has had coaching stops at Anna, Newton, Pearsall, Winnsboro, Kerens, Ganado and Houston Westside, and will be starting his 23rd season as a Texas high school coach. He has been athletic director and head football coach for the past 11 years of his career, serving at Ganado ISD for two years and Houston Westside for the last nine years.

  4. Besides being wooden bleachers, the best moment I saw is when a receiver flip over the fence behind the end zone. I mean right behind. Do believe he caught the ball and was not injured.

Also the more I read about this story, I do think there is has to be something with the coach naming his son the starting qb and not allowing any sort of competition. This is about 1/4 of the varsity team that basically has said enough is enough and they do want what is best for the town and team by having a competition to see who is best. There is no guarantee the coaches son is automatically better just because he is the coaches son.

    I agree

  5. It's been downhill since they replaced their stadium. What a downgrade.

Remember playing them in middle school where they had a RB rush for 300 on us. Aledo went on to win 2 state titles from that class but never heard about the RB since. Like Garrity said there has to be more to this.

Old Miller stadium was great. I remember the big oak tree that the limbs almost extended into the end zone. The visitors side bleachers were so steep, that if you fell somebody might as well call a ambulance, because you were going to the hospital.  :)
