All good things come to an end, right? Hopefully, it won't get to 21. In the big picture, it won't make much difference because the big "G" probably looms again in a few weeks either way...but it would be nice to hang a loss on Carthage. Hey, I did not say that Jasper cannot win this game. Coach Hooks himself said these dogs can hit! It will be an interesting game to say the least.

Never say Jasper doesent have a chance That is not right to say Kirbyville choked. Jasper just took it to them big time in the second half. If KV choked it was only because McGill's uniform got so dirty they could not tell he was not a wildcat.

This says it all. WOS has losses to Jasper and Silsbee. No way they let BC join that group. Not this year. Maybe next year.

On paper, and by all obvious logic, Carthage is the heavy favorite in this game. But this game will not be played on paper, it will be played in the Jasper Dawg House. Jasper wins, 24-21. After all, why not one more big upset for our little dogs!

It makes no difference to me. We "owe" both of em! ;D First though, Jasper must make the playoffs. If they win this week and next, I think they will be in.

That 2002 Jasper team was loaded.........this years team doesen't look that bad either.........we may need some angels in the endzone...lol....... What are your thoughts on this? I listened to the game on the radio. As I remember Jasper had a big half-time lead, and at half time the Jasper starters changed to their street clothes and sat on the sideline while the second string finished the game. I had never heard of a team doing that. It made it very obvious that the starters were out of the game. My wife said at the time that that was insulting to Huntington. I said no, it was probably great relief to Huntington. Who in their right mind would have wanted to keep getting hit by those big guys? I don't think there is any danger of Jasper being in position to do that this year, but what are your thoughts on whether that was proper to put the starters in street clothes? Coaches get criticized for whatever they do.

Huntington will probably do better than they did when the two teams played in 2002.

Maybe so but the Tigers have been considered a speed team as well. I agree. From what I saw, Silsbee is every bit as fast as WOS, and Jasper surely is as fast as either. Maybe faster. Just my take from seeing all three teams albeit from Jasper's side of the stadium.

Even though all of us here in SE Texas know that Silsbee is much better than their record indicates, I think that's the only thing the pollsters outside the area have been paying attention to. Therefore, I think this will only demote WO-S and will not do much to promote Jasper. True. Do not be surprised if most polls STILL have WOS higher than Jasper. Nothing new. I decided most polls are worthless long ago. About all they are good for is bulletin board material for the next opponent. The "poll" on the field of play is the real deal.

I did also, then I changed to WOS because of the field conditions. I felt that Silsbee had the edge on a dry field. Obviously, they had the edge on a wet field also.

I would not hold my breath. Maybe if Jasper beats Carthage, maybe ..... For some reason the voters seem to be buying the line that wos lost, not jasper won.
