Yes, it does put a new look on things.  Sam should be ready for 2015.

I heard just today that Sam keeps a pretty close rein on ALL players. They had better be going to class, and performing or else.... else they can go somewhere else.

Wow! It seems that the bigger they are, the better Sam plays. Unless it is LSU.....

I had the privilege to watch them one game in the Jasper tournament.  Awesome is all I can say.  They demolished that team. Can someone remember this; although I did not see it in the article.  After one of the seasons, I think in 63-64 for their warm up game after district they played Panola Junior College; AND BEAT THEM! Thank you for the article.  Brought back some good memories.

[/quote] True.  You just never know.  We think we know, but even at the NFL level, strange things happen.  Example, Texans and Jags.  Yes, it could turn out to be a Navasota rout.  I can see Navasota scoring 57 points, but I cannot see Jasper being held to 3 points.  On the other hand, if some of Jasper's younger players step up and play over their heads, particularly on defense it could be a very close game.  At this point in the season, stats and records don't mean much if one or both teams have been steadily improving.  But certainly, Navasota is a heavy favorite based upon their record.  And they deserve to be the favorite until someone proves otherwise.

Last couple of games?  Jasper edged Center to take top spot in Div II, second in district.  Then rolled a 6 and 4 Groesbeck team Friday night.  Three of Groesbeck TD's came after the outcome of the game was no longer in question. I think the two teams are pretty close talent wise.  It will come down to which team executes the best.  And the edge should go to Navasota on experience and execution.  Going to be tough for Jasper to go home with a win.
