  1. I was told that PNG is playing Bridge City Friday Night at 6:00 at PNG. I was told that today.
  2. I have to say this about Central. They played an awesome game. They made all the little plays count like making hits that mattered. This game ended very ugly but as some of us were talking, the Central team played a better game that what the final score ended up being. Props to the Jags.
  3. there is a kid that throws for PNG on occasion named Chris Sweetenham. He is sweet (no pun intended). Reminds us alot of Clay Bucholtz. He don't get much mound time now but he will be carrying quite a load in the years to come.
  4. unbelievable game!! There were few dull moments in this one. PNG hits the ball but it has eyes quite often. Vidor has to be the toughest hitting squad around. I love games like that but ya know the ulcers don't ;D. Great game guys and like I told a couple of you, don't ever let a game dictate who you are as a player or a team. Take care of business next week and we all know you will. We will meet up again this year I am sure.
  5. Harrington for PNG has 75 Ks in 50 innings pitched. He has a 0.69 ERA for the season but a .40 for district play.
  6. I agree that the music should not be an issue. If the players did not complain to the coaches and the coaches did not tell the 'blues' anything then the point is mute. The fans have opinions on what is obnoxious and what is inappropriate but we don't make that call. As for PNG 'doin the same as vidor' that I keep hearing about...well don't see that happening. Yes, there were things that I did not agree with but that was forever ago. All thoughts should be on making the next game a good one, cheering on the kids, making a good memory for all the seniors that won't be here next year. Friday is a pivotal night for a lot of teams. Lets show the players that we can be adults and act our age. (Now you can blast me for this post) lol ;D
  7. Good article and I think the players like being rewarded for hard work. Winning and being a team player are rewards in themselves but if the 'pearls' are handed out generously and fairly, it is a good motivator. I like the idea.
  8. Ryan is an absolutely awesome kid. I have always been a fan of his. Go get 'em and make us proud like you always have. We always said this would be your calling...
  9. I don't usually respond to these kind of remarks but I am this time. A lot of the reason is because there were very many other things that happened in the Vidor game. The music and all the other stupid excuses was not necessary and had no bearing on the game. The Blue crew did but that is not what lost the Vidor game. The Vidor game loss was due to not having the clutch play when needed. In the Nederland / PNG game the PNG bats were cold. It was that simple. Does that answer you question? No excuses just the loss of a good game.
  10. No one ever doubted that Ozen was a team to be reckoned with. Having a kid that has played with DD and Gardiner for many years, I know how dangerous they can be. Great job and we all know that LCM will get the job done next week like PNG will have too. GO PANTHERS!!
  11. Hats off to the Dogs!! Nederland was hot tonight and the bats for PNG were pretty cold. Goes to show that on any given night anything can happen and when it comes to PNG and Nederland all bets are off. Josh Dean did a great job on the mound and Ryan did a great job closing. Spikes for PNG did a great job in relief of Todd. PNG will be fine and will take care of business....
  12. Dayton can play but I think the Pirates are back on track and gonna roll right along... ;D
  13. If the kid threw 178 pitches, he's not going to be good for long. WOW!!! How old is this kid? Not that it matters because no one should ever throw that many pitches for any reason!!! I hope the pitch count was way off!!!
  14. Can we drop the skills issue and get back to the game forum?
  15. Thank you scrap. I can tell you that if it were him, AND IT IS NOT, it would be handled. Eric is a competitor and can get as aggressive as every other athlete. People that know him and that take the time to get to know him all know that he is not this type of person. As far as skills goes.... that person can say whatever he/she wants. If a person is small enough to take words from someone not knowing who they are from for sure and just ASSUME they know then that is bad on them. You know what ASSUME does. All kinds of folks get on here and say things that may or may not be true. You can't take everything on this forum for truth.
  16. When these two teams play each other all records and past games go out the window.... they play this game like no other game is played. I guess that is why it is called MID-COUNTY MADNESS!!
  17. A little humility would serve you well in life. If you aren't Harrington (which would be shocking), you aren't doing him any favors in the reputation department by posting tasteless remarks. We would all like to think that a player with that much talent would also be an all around great sport...an athlete that views his talent as a God given blessing, and a player that sets a positive example for his team, school and community. Why can't you believe that this is not the Harrington kid? I have told you on several occasions that it is not. I am sure you have figured out who I am so I am tell you again that he does not even get on this forum. Harrington is a good ballplayer and he is too focused on the season and taking care of his business and helping his team. I don't know who this skills person is but once again it is not Eric Harrington!!!!!!
  18. I know the Bears just had a really off night. Every team knows exactly how that feels. Last nights game, by no means, dictates what kind of team they are. They are and will continue to be a top contender every year for the playoffs. I know they are a hitting team and they have very few nights like last night. There is a lot of time left this season and many things can happen. Don't underestimate any team and don't ever count anyone out.
  19. I have said this once before...Skills is NOT the Harrington kid. He doesn't give this forum much attention. Don't know who it is but it is not the Harrington kid. He is too focused on playing the game to get on this forum.
  20. This is awesome to hear. We have told him that his career is in baseball and now he has take the next step. Good luck Ryan and keep us posted. You are a great kid and growing up to be a good man. Good luck with the rest of this season and then off to college.
  21. Amir Jalali is definitely something special!! He has a very strong arm, good judgement in the field, great bat and other attributes. Bright future!!! Most Important....GREAT KID!!!
  22. Coop... What do you think for the triangle? PNG/Ozen and Nederland/Vidor games tonight.
  23. I am lost on this one...where did this come from? I am really not dense but just a little lost on the comment... ???
