I don't think we can beat Newton THIS year, but we are playing 2 animals back to back. With that said, we haven't taken a beating like that since the 70's. I would expect a good game plan and a good effort Friday night. We will match up better with the Eagles than we did against Carthage. Our kids are proud. They won't take to kindly the whipping they got last week. I believe a closer game is coming than some expect.

May end up in the playoffs......lol we may go four or five rounds deep. 4a DII is a crapshoot this year. This thing is up for grabs. Don't count our youngsters out yet just because we got hammered by Carthage.
-
We hung 70 on Carthage about 4 or 5 years ago. What goes around comes around. They seemed to have bounced back from it ok. We will too.

We will show up and play hard. Sorry we won't be much competition. Lol

Yes sir. Someone strange may win a title.

So we get arse whipping and we get our own thread. Might as well quit paying attention to the Buckeyes and find out who the real competition is. Carthage and D1 are loaded. Looks to be an awesome playoff follow statewide. Gilmer and DII are not. WOS 1-3, hell even PG lost to 3A Gladewater last night. Times they are a changing.
-
Gilmer wins 42-41. We had to score twice in the last 3 1/2 minutes and Van ended the game one the one yard line. Our turn is coming. We have won 2 games and maybe should have lost both of them.

Train horns suck. Especially when you are listening to someone else's!!!

I'm afraid beating Gilmer ain't what it used to be. We have lost some (not all) of our luster. We are still good, but that killer instinct at least for the short term seems to be left in bygone years.

This thread is awesome!!!

Newton now has two powerhouse 4A programs on their schedule for next season. Both Gilmer and West Orange Stark will be great games for Newton. I guess all of this smack talk will be determined once and for all next season.
Other than a little question at QB, we will have 2 to choose from, we will be very good. Lots of talent as always in skill positions, our lines will be much improved as well our defense. Our D got younger and much better later in the season last year. Say what you want but we probably played the 2 state champs as well as anyone. We just laid some eggs when it counted most. Not saying we would have won, but I would have loved to get one more shot at PG in the region finals. We should have won the district game. D let us down with 30 seconds to go.

This gonna be nuetral site or home and home with the Buckeyes?

Fixing to do another bond. 3rd try. This one may pass if they take out all the fluff they keep hiding. Academics are excellent though.

Is Spring Hill north of Longview?
Spring Hill is actually in Longview city limits on the north side towards Gilmer. Longview has 3 high schools but they are all independent of each other. Longview, Pine Tree, and Spring Hill. That is my geography lesson for the day!!!
-
Spring Hill should have a parade. They went 5-0 on non-district and 0-5 in district. A parade for everyone!!!

It's hard to win, win , win. WOS had a great year, and I thank them for the excitement. Yes, we lost, but they never gave up. PG had more answers this year, but, it was their first year, and WOS is there every year. Thanks to the team and Cornel for a great year!
That's the most sane thing I have seen you say in the last 2 days. Your buddies must have been shaming you.

Cy-Fair kicking tail. I hope it gets better. Hate for the last game to suck.

I feel like I'm going to a funeral. I despise the end of Texas High School Football. I will be in a funk for 2 months........ except when I'm quail hunting. I'm never in a funk when I'm quail hunting!!!!

I don't know how many graduate, but with that QB, Bruce at RB, and that beast #40 Freshman, I can hope.
You know there will still be some major competition about 90 miles southwest. But congrats to you guys. You have a really good team and your defense was especially fun to watch. I hope we can learn from it!!!

#40 if I heard right was a freshman and that kid was getting up the field fast of the edge.
He was. And they said his best sport was BBall. He was like 6'8". Maybe I'm exaggerating a little. Lol
