I thought Silsbee limited WOS to big plays.  Problem was...every big play allowed ended up in the end zone except one and it took prob fastest dude in state to keep that from happening.

You have to stop them Everytime or it's to the house. It's tough to keep up that pace the whole game, one bad drive sets you back and then you press.

Silsbee was in it until the above. One bad drive drained their momentum and WOS answered with a TD to put it 27-17.  Fourth quarter is where Stangs put teams away.

    Mentally and then physically.

They will have to pass more though than usual if Watson can't get the edge. If he does, lights out.  Too good in open space.  Defense can be scored on though, not as dominant as last couple years but still very good.

    I'm leaning 34-21 WOS.

Believe it looks a lot like the Silsbee game.  WOS didn't make too many mistakes.  Gotta take advantage when they do.  We didn't.

+1 respect you a lot for this and totally agree

The same one who held him to no catches the last 2 years is still there. So no mismatch there

Boom you said it. Yeah he’s the fastest in the state period but this is the football field. He’s got to be able to run routes to get open. Morris has done a great job of covering Barnes in the last two years while he’s been faster than Morris. What good will speed do if you can’t  get open?

Not in my opinion, but people seem to see rivalries where none exist.  When I was in Vidor, the Pirate faithful would've been happy with a 1-9 season if that one victory was over Ned, but that didn't make it a rivalry, especially not for Ned, who beats Vidor 9 out of 10 times.

This appears to be the first real test for WOS.  I expect a tough, hard hitting contest, albeit, not close.  That said, my prediction is WOS 24 Silsbee 6.

Just wondering, what makes this a test game for us?

I agree. But there will definitely be more than just the stretch play and play action that the other poster said. Saw more than that against Jasper, nice read option by the qb.

Just because that's what they ran against jasper doesn't mean the same will be ran against us. And btw, I am just basing off what was ran against us last year.
