I’ll take LCM in a real close one.

Once we get our passing game rolling, and it will get there, man oh man watch out!

Something this team can do better than last year’s team is run the ball and control the clock. We may not have all the playmakers but we can wear you down with our running game and force you to play in our favor

I thought Silsbee limited WOS to big plays. Problem was...every big play allowed ended up in the end zone except one and it took prob fastest dude in state to keep that from happening.
You have to stop them Everytime or it's to the house. It's tough to keep up that pace the whole game, one bad drive sets you back and then you press.
Silsbee was in it until the above. One bad drive drained their momentum and WOS answered with a TD to put it 27-17. Fourth quarter is where Stangs put teams away.
Mentally and then physically.
They will have to pass more though than usual if Watson can't get the edge. If he does, lights out. Too good in open space. Defense can be scored on though, not as dominant as last couple years but still very good.
I'm leaning 34-21 WOS.
Believe it looks a lot like the Silsbee game. WOS didn't make too many mistakes. Gotta take advantage when they do. We didn't.
+1 respect you a lot for this and totally agree

Only key player silsbee is missing from basketball from what i heard was Kalon Barnes.

All in all, we have a lot a work to do but i like where we’re headed. Congrats to silsbee y’all gave us what we needed , being able to throw and run and match us with speed. Best of luck to you all. Hope we both can make good runs in the playoffs and hopefully meet up at Jerry’s World

I'm confused on this one? Who is the average WR playing DB?
He’s talking about when Barnes got the holding call for holding #18

I agree. Newton is really good and is on WO-S level...
Last time we played Newton DQ game of the week ended up being very lopsided 53-0. But yeah they’re still pretty good

The same one who held him to no catches the last 2 years is still there. So no mismatch there
Boom you said it. Yeah he’s the fastest in the state period but this is the football field. He’s got to be able to run routes to get open. Morris has done a great job of covering Barnes in the last two years while he’s been faster than Morris. What good will speed do if you can’t get open?

Why should a thread be over 3 pages day before a game which you yourself says will be a blowout (3 TD win for WO-S)?
3 TD win isn’t a blowout to me.

Not in my opinion, but people seem to see rivalries where none exist. When I was in Vidor, the Pirate faithful would've been happy with a 1-9 season if that one victory was over Ned, but that didn't make it a rivalry, especially not for Ned, who beats Vidor 9 out of 10 times.
This appears to be the first real test for WOS. I expect a tough, hard hitting contest, albeit, not close. That said, my prediction is WOS 24 Silsbee 6.
Just wondering, what makes this a test game for us?
-
Keep in mind in 2014 when the Mustangs lost to gilmer in the SC, they returned 2 starters that next year, and people counted them out. Don't be surprised for a 20+ point victory. I do think Silsbee will score a few times maybe 2-3 but i see us scoring in the 40s. Expect to see our starters play the full game and a big game from our secondary.

I agree. But there will definitely be more than just the stretch play and play action that the other poster said. Saw more than that against Jasper, nice read option by the qb.
Just because that's what they ran against jasper doesn't mean the same will be ran against us. And btw, I am just basing off what was ran against us last year.

Like i said before , a stretch play and play action won't get the job done for coach smith. It may not be a rivalry game to us parents/fans but the kids take this game very personal. This the game they look forward to. I believe my Stangs will pull it off and put the game away in the 3rd quarter.

Game day. 5 more hours.

Terrell is the future at WOS. Give him time to mature the kid will be so good. He also almost beat WB varsity in 7 on 7.

What was central total yards man?
-
-50 yards is horrible. That's just sad

I'm starting to think that...

Neither one of them has played any competition yet. Both have played some poor to average defenses so far. Both will have their real test this week. We shall see, even though im fully on the Roschon Johnson train
