  1. look buddy...one of our big arms developed a shoulder problem, one of those guys is a closer and the other one pitched his butt off making pitcher of the week twice. If your going bash me fine but, don't drag these boys through the mud... personal message me and rag the hell out me! Pitching was not the issue anyway...its called consistent offensive production that hurt the most. I am very proud of my Lions and their efforts, we came up short. and I wish the best for our friends still in it!

I am ragging on you lol you obviously don't see good baseball much, thus your predictions were nowhere close. Perfect Game this and National Rank that, don't quit your day job. I haven't said anything about any kids, just your predictions. I am still very bitter about Malakoff's 1st round exit vs Buna. I hate thinking about it. However, unlike a lot of these SETX schools, everyone of our baseball players that starts on the mound or in the field plays football. We don't have any 1 sport guys, well we do, but they ride pine. Clifton is very good, we very well may head home, but we're still practicing this week....

  2. I know Warren has the 1 really good kid on the mound. With this being a 1 gamer, hard to predict anything really. A prediction here is nothing more than a guess with no knowledge or evidence to back it up. A good pitcher that can sit 82-85 with a good breaking ball and can spot up will beat any 3A team in the state.

  3. Bone will always positively represent this district. No shame in wanting the best for these teams. Sometimes things don't work out like we want or expect them too for our team, but he knows most of these kids from select ball days and is genuine in his support for those still playing.

You were kinda making me feel bad until you said "select ball" days. The way he described Kountze in preaseson they had 3 guys throwing 85 or better and now they're a first round knockout? What kind of "select ball" has he been around to say Kountze was untouchable and now, well...they're not.

  4. I think the original question was about a good hitting TEAM or a good pitching TEAM.

Obviously a good pitcher would dominate because you could just walk a really good hitter. But I think this is about the whole team.

Obviously... I would rather have a star pitcher over a star hitter...

But I would rather have a great hitting team than a great pitching team. Just my opinion.

Maybe the OP should've included "TEAM." Obviously, I'd rather have a roster full of really good arms than a roster full of good bats. You can manufacture a run or 2 and feel good about not giving up a run because everyone of your guys taking the mound is a stud.

  5. Rollovers and jam jobs don't find their way through the INF near as much as they did with the old bats. That's the difference. Add those 5 to 12 weak hits throughout a season to a kid's avg and he goes from .270 to .330. The kids nowadays, they don't even remember the old bats. Their "old bats" are the big barrels or whatever they used when they were 10 and 12. Good pitching dominates good hitting in just about every instance. Give me an ace on the mound that is on top of his game and he'll dominate a good hitter.

  6. I wasn't talking about feinting, I am saying you can not swing around and run after the runner who broke early without disengaging from the rubber first.

Yes you can. If you're talking about a runner leaving 2nd base headed to 3rd early and a pitcher does an "inside" move, he does not have to throw. And if you don't have to throw, what else is there to do besides take off running and forcing a run down? Once your lead leg crosses over to the backside of the rubber and touching the dirt, you are considered disengaged...

  7. well I have a membership as well and not every event is a perfect game event...and at many of those events their are several radar guns that work just fine. Oh and by the way you do not have to log in to a membership account to go and view VELO information. I realize what it says on perfect game but i also know that every velocity recorded in the sub venues does not always make it to the final imput and if you have ever been their and seen the set up, in those surrounding ball parks, you would understand. Yes you are correct in saying Lognion was reported at 81.  I said 82-84 hitting / touching 85 because I saw it for myself sitting behind the 16 year old score keeper that was on his phone more than not...so is it that hard to believe that he could have been 83 on avg. and every now again let one fly pushing edge of the velo envelope??? and the other two pitchers i know for a fact have pitched multiple innings in perfect game events...like I said Perfect Game is not always the gospel broski! I guess bottom line what you think you know in reality aint knowing alot...

No need in schooling me on who keeps track of velo's at PG events. If what you're saying is true, Kountze wins state...? Will be the best pitching staff the 3A level has ever seen.

  8. Oh I agree we would that much stronger...but he is not and we gotta have guys step up get it done...so far pitching has been the bright spot. I hope it continues and we improve across the remaining areas.

I looked up those guys on perfect game, the first kid you mention topped out at 81. Another one was on perfect game's site but wasn't recorded as having any innings under his belt. Perfect game updates their website quite often, I would know, I'm a member. Might want to check your radar again...
