I agree with you. Just stating that Kemp and the Wood have a couple exciting players.
-
I'm not saying Kemp or Westwood is going to beat either, but they have some exciting players. Westwood's QB can go. I think he is in the same class as the Arnold kid from Kountze. Not sure of grades or offers on the table like Arnold, but he is the real deal. Can't understand why he doesn't play much defense. They have same fullback and tailback back from last year's team, both good players. Their defense is lacking though. Kemp has a kid playing QB that is the real deal. You'll be impressed after seeing him play. Does not play like a freshmen. Poor kid has 0 help around him though. Kemp does some unorthodox alignments on offense.

SETX likes to drag their feet. I do hear ya'll have some good duck hunting down there. Anyhow, Teague vs Woodville, Malakoff vs Buna, Westwood/Kemp vs EC, and Westwood/Kemp vs Kville is how this shakes out.

I understand your SETX handle now. Just know that sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

So in other words, you're setting yourself up for another excuse when you guys bet bounced. Oh the weather! Oh the horror!!!
Not at all. It was a monsoon, literally. The very next week, Malakoff played what looked like one of their best games of the year in the rain vs Kemp. Held Kemp to their lowest offensive output for the year, which included games vs Teague, Farmersville, 4A Mabank... They've learned to deal with conditions it seems. I feel as if this year, they have been prepared for anything that comes in the playoffs.

Struggled with Westwood and Elkhart
So you're going off of scores from the internet for your assessment?
-
I didn't figure someone who seems as intelligent as you would take words so literal. In a previous post, I made the comment that Malakoff had a good little QB now. Last year's kid was a Sr. Yes, Malakoff had Srs that graduated, but not 20 and not 20 key guys either. Also, kids tend to get a little faster and stronger from ages 16 to 17 and such.
-
Malakoff beat Daingerfield this year, who won their district. Got a Tech and LSU commit. Also beat a talented Scurry team. Other than that, not many impressive wins. Played Teague in a monsoon and didn't play well offensively. I think the game might've been different in normal weather conditions.
-
Key word in the your post...LAST year. Not the same team man, I'm warning you. Got a good little QB and 4 wideouts that can fly. Big part of their game. Defense is a bendable but never break type defense that gets stops when they count.
-
True 24. Also, let me remind you a beat up Rockdale beat Kville and the Yoe destroyed EC. Teague atleast played the Yoe close LAST year. So if you want last year to be of importance, there's you some info...
-
I'd love to see the Malakoff kids gets a shot at the Yoe. Keep talking about last year, Buna is about 20 Srs lighter and Malakoff is the same team.
-
Living in the past, once again. Please come at me with something better. Let's talk about next Friday's match-up...
-
And how exactly did your district match up to ours last year with the same styles?
Don't live in the past Whoopi. It's all about what can you do for me now! If you want to talk about tradition, which is what the past is, spare me...
-
Teague and Malakoff will need to be factored in with Regional finalists in this region, as well as Grandview who is averaging nearly 60 points a game through the air. South east texas hasn't seen anything like that. Ya'll can beat up on each other all you want running those simple minded offenses, but those days are over. Time to play some real football and start defending the whole field. Can't load the box with 9 and man up the outside 2 against these other districts. Good luck to you guys in the playoffs. PS, neither of these 2 teams would sniff WOS...
-
East Chambers wins. Discipline beats uncoached talent every time!
-
Buna better hope Kountze wins and then Hardin knocks them off in week 11 because Malakoff is coming. Would love to see rematch of Buna/Malakoff after that kid from Buna interviewed after the game and said some classy stuff about Malakoff kids.

So the court case decided who had custody. What does that have to do with eligibility?
-
No "judge" has ever had the power to decide whether a kid can or cannot play in the UIL. I'm calling BS on jktjskjtlkjtkdj53 and your lawyer buddy. Why would this be taken to the legal system? That's why there's a DEC in place. All Thompson can really do is say "hey, he moved for athletic reasons." The other teams in the kid's new district are the ones that decide if he's eligible. If there's no foul play, then he can play.
-
No they are not at Pop Warner games, But college level coaches do recruit Gene pools Like High School coaches hunt Jobs in towns with lots of athletes. Gene pools in smaller communities are where you see the better coaches and communities where the pool is shallow is what they try to avoid. Tenaha , Corrigan, Newton, Celina, Hugh Springs just to name a few have the upper end of the Gene pool.
Can't believe Celina got thrown in that mix. You do know they're pretty much metroplex now, right? Not the same ol Celina or Celina families anymore.

I don't need to name drop anything or prove anything. I know what I'm talking about you don't pretty much the end of the discussion.
That's the response I figured you'd come back with. Of course you don't know anyone or you'd be quick to name drop. Of course you don't understand how the UIL deals with athletic transfers or you wouldn't be spouting off on SETX.com. Of course you want to bring the black kid/white kid issue to the forefront because everyone knows that Thompson's team was ALL white and no black kids helped out in making a title run so he can treat the black kids however he desires.... The last half of that sentence possesses sarcasm, just FYI.
-
This is actually funny. For those of you who are on the outside of this conversation looking in, here is she scoop. This is a very black and white issue (pun). If you notice one group (the group that I'm in) talk about the actual facts of what's going on. The other group the pro Thompson group are sarcastic and demeaning. They focus on semantics and grammar. Never really dealing with the actual issue. The issues are. Why are kids wanting to leave WOS and why is Thompson trying so hard to prevent future kids from leaving. Bottom line. The kid left. It's a done deal. Coach Thompson knows that. His focus is intimidating others from leaving. Question why are kids trying to leave a program that went to state last year? Kids should be breaking down the door to transfer in. The last two kids that transferred in both had third scholarship offers pulled. They both ended up getting another offer but still. Their offer was pulled. The last two varsity played that transferred out received offers in the double digits weeks after leaving WOS. Those are facts.
So you're with the WOS coach or against? Coming from someone that has done some recruiting, just because a kid transfers high schools doesn't mean I offer him or pull the offer I already had... My mind would've been made up despite what some high school coach said...

I assumed I was dealing with rational people. Of course "file again" in this case means filled out more paperwork against Trey Baldwin to stop him from playing this year.
If you guys want to lock this thread cool lets do that and let's start another one so I can post the messages I have from a college coach stating WOS advised them not to offer Trey Baldwin because he was recruited to Cy Falls that will be fun.You sound like someone that has little to no knowledge of college recruiting and you claim to know all these college coaches. Why don't you go ahead and list them, start name dropping and I'll research it and then claim your validity. If everything checks out, you're all good. But for you to claim to know so much, what the piss are you doing on setx sports forum? A coach can't "fill out more paperwork" against a player. It doesn't work like that. I don't know this coach ya'll are talking about, but I'm tired of reading your "know-it-all" posts. I'm sure you're one of those AAU/7 on 7 coaches doing God's work getting kids recruited...

It will be a good trip, but Carthage was nice last year. Nice facilities. Good luck to you guys.
