Personally, I am glad the streak is over. Now we don't have to pressure our guys to be perfect. Five years of beating PNG and Central In a row is awesome. Streaks like this don't come around very often and I am simply glad I got to witness it.

Now, let's play some Bulldog football and enter the playoffs on a high note.

Congrats GCM. You really surprised us and the district with your come from behind victory, especially after how the first quarter went.

When our boys play turnover free ball, we can play with most anyone. That may sound cliche, but we haven't been completely shut down by anyone. We avg 3.5 "LOST" turnovers a game. Coach Boyd went for 2 vs Vidor 2 weeks ago for the W after trailing 35-7 at the half, and scoring 41 in the 2nd half to make it a 1 pt game. We came up short that night, but fought our tails off, just like we do every week. One thing you guys don't realize is, that GCM, although being considered a "Baytown" school, is made up by mostly of kids from a small town named Highlands, just north of Baytown, that for 70+ years have gone to school together from k-8 grades, only then sent to Baytown for 9-12 (HS) When GCM opened, on the North side, Highlands finally had a school of their own, with the northern most parts of Baytown proper attending as well. Highlands boys are full of fight! Just thought I'd share that history/logistical lesson with yall!! By the way, my hats off to BIG NED, class program, and class kids!! GO GCM BEAT OZEN!!!!

That normally how most games are predicted. They look at what the teams did against same opponents.
 
For those that went to the GCM vs Lee game I think you can agree with me. That game should have been 35-0 after the 1st quarter.  Duke threw a pick in the endzone  and they also had another turnover in the redzone. If they score on those 2 possessions its 35-0 end of 1st.  
 
Now if Vidor can capitalize on some of GCM dumb turnovers it will be close. If they do not GCM runs away with it.
 
Just my look at it.

With Central's loss to Nederland, I hope this is the scenario that works out. That would put Central and GCM on the big side of the playoff bracket with CE King and one of the other schools. That would have GCM playing King...

Troller06 my father and uncle both played on those Al Dennis coached teams. My brother was on the 86 team coached by Bundy, and I played for RSS in the mid 90's. My son is soon to be at GCM, so I'm sure Wikipedia could probably learn a few things from me. I don't attack people in posts. I simply state facts with my point of view. You post recklessly, enjoy your day! And thanks Buddy, I appreciate the welcome!

Gonna have to pump the brakes on the Al Dennis and glory days for Sterling being back. First off in 1986 RSS was in the dome for the Reg Qtr Finals and lost to WOS on penetrations 3-2, and Bundy was coaching that team.(which is the last time RSS made it past 1st round:history lesson) RSS is definitely a better team with Gareri at the helm, at least over the the 1st half of the season. But let's not go anointing these guys world beaters quite yet. I hope they do continue their success, but success and labels and monikers are built over time, not 5 games or even one season, it's irresponsible and foolish to even do so. Here's to RSS (8-27 over the last 4 seasons.) Good luck RSS and everyone else playing this weekend!
