I wish your son the best of luck in his new spread offense, but passing on Jenkins, who did what he did in Harmony in year 1, will be a legendary mistake in the coming years. Orangefield had a chance, but let the Little League Coaches of America get in the way of making a decision that could've advanced the program long term. They will reap what they've sown.
Jenkins is a good coach but has been in 3 places in 6 years. Need someone that wants to stick around, not just pull chocks whenever he feels like it.

Wouldn't matter if they were teaching the same system all the way back to the cradle. None of the 3 necessary components exist: coaches, kids & community. All are middle of the road...
Tell us how you really feel...

In your next post you listed 2 different offenses. Neither one was the Spread. So saying they don't have the personnel to run the spread is a little disingenuous. You can pass a lot out of the Pro-I. But did they? I'm not saying you are wrong or right. But think about this: What if since 2004 they had the Spread install and have been working with their kids in this offense since the 7th grade. Would it look totally different? Not sure. This is were good/great coaches start the QB development. But, this is me offering my opinion just like you offered yours.
The kids that are in 8th, 9th, and 10th grade grew up throwing the ball, A LOT! We have QB development for several that go to private lessons and play 7 on 7. Of course the Slot T was sprinkled in there just to get them used to it, but they didn't start primarily running that until the 8th Grade. Even in 7th grade ball they threw it a lot. The pieces are there and not just for the next two or three years. They just need to be implemented or at least given an opportunity.

It would be nice to see the Bobcats break free from the grasp of the Slot-T offense . Could use the entire field for a change and develop QB's and WRs
Orangefield has both, just aren't utilized currently

Can he run too? Won't need to throw if he can run

Haven't seen a throwing qb come through OF in many years spread doesn't really fit
Keep watching, because the next 3 years they will have one. Just need to let him throw it.

I think that's one of most aggravating ways to go down. I don't mind losing but not when your team rattled with the injury bug is nowhere near 100% or heck 75%.
WOS is in the same boat right now. Gales is out with a broken arm.

Gales is legit. I hate that for him and the team.

You’re right sorry! Miller is great! When he played us, he was unstoppable! I would have given him the ball 35 times!

Seems like y'all should have more kids out than that. Those are D2 numbers or 3A D1. I'm pretty sure Orangefield has more kids out than 30
OF has 35

Announcers just said 6 fumbles and a muff between the two teams so far.
That field has got to be atrocious! Groundskeeper will have fun with that!

End of first quarter, LCM 7-6, Bears driving to Vidor 25
This game shouldn’t even be close. Weather definitely a factor. Normal playing conditions Vidor wins by 20+

We run the slot t. Not the veer.
You're right. They are very similar. I like the Slot T better.

Just bought my season tickets for this year. Can't wait for those FNL!

I was the QB of the 94 season when they first brought the triple option to Vidor. They kept that for a few years and then went to a pro style until Matthews hired Dubois as the OC. He is the one that brought the Veer to Vidor really. That's what they run now.

Just wanted someone that is willing to stick around longer than 2 years. Guy is a legit coach but moves around after 2 years a lot. Yea his son is going to Lamar but Lord knows he could transfer after 30 mins.
