Even if Lamar were to get an official team.... it would be made up just as the Womens is... as in the majority of the players would not be representing this area... the fact of the matter is that our area produces good soccer players... but not as many Div. 1 quality players as you think... dont get me wrong there are some... but if this post was made in asperations of promoting south east texas soccer players as that, then you are mistaken

you mean club or High School level????
-
congratulations!!!.. College soccer is a blast and I wish you all the luck in the world!
-
WB is young and lacks strength going forward
-
I cant believe that Fabio Cannavaro is mentioned in this.... ???
-
My team just played the U-17s from IMG in Bradenton, Florida.... lost 1-0..... they were pretty solid....
-
I think Central and Lumberton are obviously the teams to beat.... Nederland has great young talent.... PNG is PNG.... LCM is not the same LCM they used to be in soccer.....
all that aside....
Im going with Lumberton and Central Co-Champs.... b/c I like to stay as diplomatic as possible 8)

i think central or ozan will com out on top this year.
yea ozAn lol.... i thinks its Ozen right?... whatever... yea... Ozan will def. come out on top... they have alot of quality players that can really toe poke the snot out of the ball :
-
Yea theres no doubt that just judging by program strength this game wasnt close... unfortunately for us... Soccer is the one sport you can completely dominate a team and score line wise.... still win unconvincingly.....
-
1.KELLEY
2.LUMBERTON
3.CENTRAL
4.NEDERLAND
5.PNG
6.WEST BROOK
7.VIDOR
....?
Nederland and PNG infront of WB???.... :
-
just another Mexico home game ;D
-
come on... sleep ANYWHERE!!!! :
-
you hit the nail on the coffin... WOOPS.. I mean head :
-
I think that was a pretty rash decision... just b/c the U.S. Women didnt win it all, doesnt mean they didnt have a successful World Cup (Granted they did go in as world number 1 and heavily favored)... JMO

Nice to hear some outside support for WB. They are not necessarily overrated but i do agree that after district the teams they will have to go through will be much tougher. The Houston area is loaded with talent. What impresses me is how much Stump gets for his buck from the way he utilizes his talent.
Having a son that played for him during his first year gives much insight to his accomplishments.
1st--his college experience as both player and coach enables him to coach these kids a the highest level possible.
2nd--he has an awesome staff that coaches very efficiently during the week and more so during the games. WB players never watch the game from the sidelines. When they come off the field they line up on the bench and constantly adjust all game long. Stump is a good manager but he lets his staff do their jobs.
3rd--unlike the past---his teams are well disciplined on and off the field. My wife is a teacher at the Brook and is well aware that these players are required to adhere to making their grades and abide by the rules. If a player challenges the system and tries to be treated special, rather than sending them to the principlal--a coach is always ready and willing to address And this player will return to the teacher with a sincere apology for their actions. A very instumental player (now playing D1 ball) last year missed an entire week and game last year just for being seen with the wrong company. He was also in much better physical shape when he returned if you know what i mean. No exceptions by the WB coaching staff. No player is considered more valuable as an individual than the team itself. I believe this shows up on the field.
4th--Stumps game plan is multi-threaded and never looks the same. The play-book resembles a set of enclyclopedias. It is complicated which is why they appear to be better each week. One set of films will not help scout this team.
5th--And yes, Stump appears to see validity to keeping players playing at the JV level instead of dressing them up to sit and watch the geme. There is rarely any excess or unusable baggage on his sidelines on Friday night.
6th--His trainer is also very instrumental to this team and is treated as part of the staff. Atheletes today need a good dependable and experienced trainer. I believe WB has one of the best and probably could be considered as the hardest worker day in and day out. The hours this guy puts in are invaluable to the health and well being of these players.
7th--finally--the parents each year are aware of their role. Keep your kids enrolled and passing and parents are welcome to watch from the stands while he agrees to keep his staff and players on the field. Its made obvious that he plans to distance himself from parental advice regarding coaching. I admire this the most.
Sorry for the long entry--but lots of area teams could benefit from this philosophy. Its run more like a program than just a team. What also amazes me, is the success WB has in spite of a BISD budget.
Respectfully submitted

Love the bit about the trainer.... Mr. Whiteside is an awsome trainer.... cant tell you how many times he took care of me back in High school...

West Brook vs. Kelly!!!!!!!!!..... oh wait :'(
-
IVE BEEN TRYING!!!!!!!!!.... but Im in season and I have school.... GAHHH... it really sucks traveling all over the place and doing school work...
-
I think so... especially if Fernando is still playing.. with him.. they have a chance to win against most..
-
A 60 yard FG kicker here in Beaumont? You would think I would have heard about this kid... ???
Ive kicked a couple back in my high school day.. in practice.. but the plate in High School football that used to kick off of adds a significant advantage to the kicker...
-
Josh Davis was one of the best players I think to ever come out of the area
-
what a shame.... one of the great soccer minds of the world
-
god bless this young man
-
oh duh... how could i forget about that one.... that happened against us.... which was pretty stupid considering that the player that played wrongfully used to play club with kids on our high school squad

I believe there was a problem with this several years back at Central???... correct me if im wrong....
