WOS would be the complete team if we only had a better kicking game. Sorry but we have had all year to try to be consistent but still not there. Would be worth it to just go for 2 points.

This post really ticks me off. We have not had a good kicker for several years, but one boy stepped up to the plate and said I would like to have that job. From what I understand, he had ZERO experience and no soccer. I was told he went to kicking camps at UT, to work on his technique. WOS, to my knowledge, does not have a kicking coach, but, there is an ex-Mustang kicker with the expertise and experience to help him. The young man lines up to do his level best to put it through the uprights. Give him a break and your support, instead of posting criticism on him. He has improved all year, and is still getting better.

Same thing in 2012 against Navasota. 2000 was the first time WOS faced the spread and Harrell had been running it but knew the correct play to get ahead in the first half. WOS won the 2nd half of that game. Hopefully WOS realizes every team they meet from here on out knows they would lose unless some tricks are played.

I was just pointing out that defense does not always win games. I know what happened at the Ennis game. WOS faced a high powered offense, and regardless how good their defense was, it was not up to the job. Yes, that was WOS first at facing the spread offense, and it was not a good matchup for us. That ended the following year, when Dan traveled to Oklahoma to learn about the spread offense. And,as good as we did in the second half, don't forget that Ennis also had one of their best receivers bench due to injury in the second half. If they had remained full strength, WOS might not have done as well. Dan also switched sides with Thibideaux and Hope, in the second half, which matched up the WOS secondary to the Ennis receivers better.

Hahaha!!! So y'all actually have matching screen names on here?? Awwwwww!! How freaking cute!!! How bout y'all just get matching PT Criusers with personalized license plates with a couple of stickers on the back saying how much y'all love each other. Haha!! Better yet wear matching outfits to the next Mustang game. Matching screen names! Unbelievable!

If I graded the punctuation and spelling on the included post, Uncle Pig barely passed. His "grammar" bashing, is better than his use of the language.

Yes, dress warm indeed. They said it will be a strong cold front.....but probably not as strong as those Mustang DB's and Backers will feel to those that dare run crossing routes lol

I hope that no one experiences any pulled muscles, due to the temperature.

Sounds like Robinson is all offense. Offense wins games, defense wins state. Go STANGS.

What happened in 2000, then? WOS had the #1 Defense in the state, with no one exceeding 200 yds a game, right up until the Ennis game.

  7. I said last week, when HJ kicked the snot out of them, that Liberty would go have a talk with god and come to WOS seeking redemption. They did. I was surprised that they did as well as they did. But, in the end, it made little difference. WOS still won, and will win again. The point?

With the talent Memorial consistently produce, would it be a stretch to say if Coach T was Memorial head coach that they would contend for a state championship yearly?

That is quite a question. Thompson, both under Hooks and without him, requires strict discipline and dedication. I don't know that PAM could hold up to that.

Look at his record since 2009. It takes time to build a program with a football history like Vidor. Easy to build a team when you have talent being drafted by Alabama, LSU, etc. etc.

You have to be able to bring that talent to the top. Do you think those WOS standouts just came into this world, knows how to play football? LOL!
