  1. I agree with an earlier post. We are hearing details of some Family issues that should be Family Business. I know they make some things public record, or we hear inside info. Can we as SETX Supporters not stoop so low as to report such personal things as Family Issues?? We All make mistakes, but I Vow to try to not get too personal from this point forward. Reading some of this makes my heart ache for this kid. Brings back memories of some of my personal Family issues as a kid. Thank God there wasn't Internet back then. I know we All get caught up with "my info in legit" attitudes; that's fine, but if it gets to a place where we are seeking court documents, I believe we have crossed the line of respect for the kid. We agree we want to protect the kids right??
    Good Day to All

Cam that's why I said this thread should have been lock. As me being a great friend of Trey dad this was very upsetting to me. That's why I felt like nobody showed respect to The Baldwin Family. Ik what was going on with Trey & it seem like nobody cared about the kid. All people was worried about was why this & why that. An that he moved for athletic reason. It's not my business to post his family problems & i wasn't. If they knew the half a lot of folks will feel bad & probably a lot wouldn't. I wish Trey & the Baldwin the best, & I'm glad Trey B is happy.
  2. IMO...this thread should be removed. Whether the conversation is about a coach or a kid it's very much so involving this young man. Let his family deal with this situation and everybody get out of his business and matters not what side your on. If you want to support his family than do so in person if the relationship is of that nature and the same goes for the coach. I am not taking a shot at anyone...I'm just trying to have some compassion for a kid caught in the middle of an adult matter. All the speculation, finger pointing and blame game needs to stop. If you want to help this young man than drop the public debate and let his family handle their business in a private manor. IMO

Great Post Bone couldn't have said it any better!
  3. I just spoke with Jennfier Ellis, court coordinator for Judge Mandy Rogers-White, Judge for Orange County County Court at Law. Ms. Ellis was kind enough to look in her system and told me that no matter has ever been placed on Judge White's docket and no ruling has been issued by Judge White on ANY matter involving the West Orange-Cove CISD, who would have been a necessary defendant in any matter regarding the release of Trey Baldwin's WO-S grade transcript. Of course, in fairness, Ms. Ellis had no access to the other County Court at Law or that of the District Courts in Orange County so she could not say it had never been ruled on, But as far as Judge Mandy Rogers-White saying that, her own Court Coordinator says that is not the case. TxHoops, if you do have a copy of the ruling (I don't care if it is certified on not) and can post it here, that would be extremely helpful and would clear up a lot.

And it would clear up some questions in my mind as on the face of it, such language would equal an advisory opinion by the court which is not allowed in the State of Texas, See Valley Baptist Med. Ctr. v. Gonzalez, 33 S.W.3d 821, 822 (Tex. 2000). A controversy must exist between the parties at every stage of the legal proceeding, including the appeal. Bd. of Adjustment of City of San Antonio v. Wende, 92 S.
W.3d 424, 427 (Tex. 2002); McClure v. JPMorgan Chase Bank, 147 S.W.3d 648, 651 (Tex. App.-Fort Worth 2004, pet. denied). An issue may become moot when a party seeks a ruling on some matter that, when rendered, would not have any practical legal effect on a then-existing controversy. See In re H&R Block Fin. Advisors, Inc., 262 S.W.3d 896, 900 (Tex. App.-Houston [14th Dist.] 2008, orig. proceeding); City of Farmers Branch v. Ramos, 235 S.W.3d 462, 469 (Tex. App.-Dallas 2007, no pet.).

And in this case, there is, legally anyway, no existing controversy as no finding has been made by the entity that counts, the 17-6A district executive committee. This committee determines the eligibility of ALL transferring athletes. Section 443: CHANGING SCHOOLS FOR ATHLETIC PURPOSES, pg. 21, UIL District Executive Committee Manual. In fact, a flow sheet in this same manual, shows that the "filing" that Coach Thompson made was merely filling out the portion of the PAPF form which was STARTED and FILED WITH THE 17-6A district executive committee by CY-FALLS HIGH SCHOOL. UIL District Executive Committee Manual, pg. 19.

So Coach Thompson has blocked NOTHING he signed a form, which by the way was also signed by another district administrator in WO-C CISD, they has the box checked that Trey appeared to have moved for athletic reasons. So he was not the only one who attempted to "block" Trey's transfer (yes, yes, enter either the Radar/Henry Blake or the Bud Kilmer exceptions here!) All that happens is that the 17-6A holds a hearing in which both Cy-Falls and the Baldwins will be allowed to present evidence that Trey has not moved for athletic reasons. Given that ALL of the schools in 17-6A are part of the Cypress Fairbanks ISD, I sincerely doubt that they will block Trey's ability to play. Moreover, if the Baldwins are in possession of an order containing such language, I highly doubt that a bunch of school administrators will block that.

But I am thankful for waiting to post this missive until all of the layers of this onion have been peeled as it appears that we have finally reached the bottom of the angst toward Coach Thompson. It is not that he is "a bully." It is not that he "wants to only play by the rules when it benefits him." No, these two (or 3), represent a faction that every since Coach Hooks announced his retirement wanted a black football head coach at WO-S. This is despite the fact the support for Coach Thompson was widespread amongst all 3 municipalities, Orange, West Orange and Pinehurst and reached across racial lines. When their efforts, which in some cases were extensive, failed at the recommendation of a BLACK superintendent and confirmation of a duly elected Board of Trustees, they have showed their pain at every turn and this is just the latest.

That is all, I am out.

I getting sick of reading all of this bs. Some people go to the extreme and don't have no respect for the Baldwin Family. Im glad my friend doesn't get on this site and read all this bs. If he did I know he would be upset and wouldn't have no understanding about what's being said about his child. What people don't seem to understand his child Had Family Problems, that was veryyyy upsetting to hear about once I was told directly from him. Seems to me nobody cares about this kid, all they worried about & talking about is him moving for athletic reason. If you'll want to talk to him directly please feel free to DM me & I will gladly give you'll his #. Why don't the admin. Lock this thread. From the looks of this somebody gonna getting physical hurt behind all this bs. I hope my friend doesn't read this and somebody expose the real names of the people hinding behind a name of a keyboard. Just be happy for Trey B & the Bladwin family.

    Kent Miller.
  4. 53 I can understand your frustration, but a lot of people on SETX looking from the outside looking in. Me & Trey B father are great friends & have talked with him about this situation. I choose not to discuss it on Setx because everybody entitled too there on opinion. Only a few knows the real of what's going on..Due too the respect of the Baldwin Family I don't talk about there situation on here. It's family business, & things will work out for the better for Trey B & The Baldwin Family.
  5. IDK bout the best 1, 2 punch in Golden Triangle. I would even argue if 2nd best even in district. Shug/Bergeron, Sundgren/Partain , Roddy/Moore , Cash/Edlemon

There was a lot of great pitchers in 24 4A this year. If I said there wasn't I would be lying! I'm not taking anything away from none of the kids that u mention. It's a HOMER PICK & I like WOS Chances to win a 3 game series with the Twins on the bump. Let's just come together & hope both teams out our district advance to the next round.
  6. Friday can't get here soon enough! Daniel said they had a great practice yesterday, and a good - albeit rain shortened one today. We played #1 tough on a slippery field, with a bad day at the plate - losing 7-2. The boys are not worried about rankings, they are peaking at just the right time. A one-gamer means anything can happen, but the boys will be ready. I am ready for Friday.

Good Luck to Evadale & Daniel
  7. As far as I know they have the same playoff record as WOS (2-0). I think we're capable of beating any team! As long as we hit, play sound defense (error free) & do all the small things right. Navasota has knock WOS out the playoffs in Football & Basketball so far. WOS is (0-2) against Navasota since playing them in any sport. Now it's time for WOS to beat them in Baseball and knock them out the playoffs.
  8. Great win for the Stangs. I can recall on Feburay 29 @ LCM! WOS was losing 6-5 runners on 2 & 3 with 2 outs! @ bat was Kj & he struck out to end the game going 0-3 with 3ks. He was 3 days out of basketball & 1.5 years out of baseball. After the game he was very disappointed in hisself & had tears coming out his eyes. I remember telling him kid baseball isn't a sport where you just pick up a bat & hit. I told him u gotta get back in the swing of things & work hard @ your craft. So he went to working hard @ his craft. An tonight in the top of the 7th to lead off. Kj hit a double was a proud moment for me too see knowing how much hard work he put in since the beginning of the season. Plus getting to see the tears turn to joy after going 0-3 3ks after facing LCM in February. More importantly watching us beat a Cross town rilvary to secure a playoff spot or play in game if all fails on Friday against Silsbee!
