Walk-off reacted to WOSgrad in Transfers in Texas High School Football becoming a trend and a concern
Well, since you did decide to single out that high school (who, by the way, finished just one grade below BC in the 2019 TEA Accountability Rankings), I guess you you can name the students that have transferred to that high school and played on their football team?
As to the student (who by the way, was not a quarterback) when his father states that he transferred "for increased exposure to colleges," and to a high school that was only one grade higher in TEA rankings, that pretty much convinces me that the move was for athletic purposes. It not only cost the district that student, but the student's younger brother, a cornerback, who is currently at OU. The quarterback that you are alluding to transferred to Spring Westfield before the 2014 season due to his mother being hired by Spring ISD. BTW, he went on to Arizona State. None of these, as I recall, on an academic scholarship.
So, as you can see, the school that you didn't mean to single out was the poached, rather than the poacher and according to the TEA isn't doing as bad academically as you wish to have folks think.
Moral of the story, know what you are talking about before you open your mouth.

Walk-off reacted to WOSgrad in West Orange stark scrimmage vs png indians
Well, they did make good progress on it this week and it appears to be fully installed. Operational? I don't know.
It is not as big as Texan Drive, the Rez or the others. But it is there.

You must still be in High school. I have nothing against Huffman but y’all are not world beaters so you might want to relax. We are returning almost the whole team back.Im assuming you don’t keep up. Huffman has had LCM number in football. Oh yeah we suck.” Lickem”

It’s sad to see Coaches not willing to assist you getting information for the team. Fans like to read about their team.

Walk-off reacted to marshman in 2019 LITTLE CYPRESS-MAURICEVILLE BEARS
If the Bears can stay healthy, from what i been hearing, they should have a winning season this year. 7-3 may very well be an attainable goal.
I hope they can, as long as one of them "W" isn't against my Mustangs!

We always play bad against Huffman. If we are healthy and focused 7-3. But I think we can beat Vidor but might get out coached kinda like with Huffman. It could be a good year at LCM

Walk-off reacted to LCMAlumtiger32 in 2019 BRIDGE CITY CARDINALS
You read Dave Campbell too much. I believe we will be 2nd or better. As long as our 3 year starting QB doesn’t get hurt we will be fine. I believe the back up will be a good one also. 4 of our receivers will be back they made all district last year. It’s gonna be hard for me to believe that anyone in our district will be able to cover everyone one of them. Teams will have to pressure the quarter back. Our rushing attack was lacking last year that will have to improve. Our defense gave up least points during district. We have 7 starters on both sides of the ball. Splendora and Huffman should be the only challenges for LCM during district.

Well our 2nd string QB is playing at East Texas Baptist . Maybe a Qb coach or different style of offense would have helped a long the way or maybe not. But we have Senior back this year hopefully he worked on his throwing

Walk-off reacted to WOSgrad in Orange County Coaching Records Since 1977!
Nobody wishes to diminish the role of a coach in a championship team....I know I don't. By the same token, the role of talented players or the community support shouldn't be diminished either. Who thinks so? Cornel Thompson, who on regional television uttered the now famous, "You can't win the Kentucky Derby with a mule." And W.T. Johnson, God rest his soul, who just a couple of years later on the very same regional network, gave the impassioned post game interview as so how it just plain different in Newton, Texas.
They are two men who work around the clock, training and motivating their kids, attending conferences how to get even better than they were. But there is so much a coach can do. A coach has only so much clay to mold. Curtis Barbay went 24 years between the Eagles' first title in 1974 and their second in 1998. Dan Hooks and Thompson went 29 years the Mustangs' 2nd and third state titles. Same coaches, same training techniques. Is someone trying to imply that in those periods of time the these men, Hall of Fame coaches all, were out coached during those droughts?
It may not occur to some, but this area is blessed a number of coaches like Monte Barrow. They have hard working and talented players.
But ask yourself this and be honest.....can anybody here recall a team who you think should have had a deep playoff run that didn't because they underachieved due to coaching?

Walk-off reacted to LCMAlumtiger32 in Some local district predictions
I really don't know what Bridge City has coming back? After Dubois left it went back to the same ole same o. I think Lumberton lost some of there oline and a running back. But will they be able to throw the ball??? Splendora I know lost some but im going to have to figure out who they lost because they don't have a lot of support on this message board. Livingston I think will be better and maybe win a game this year. LCM will have a lot of returners and Id expect good things if the kids don't underachieve. LCM lost some coaching staff so that could be a little difference. Huffman is kind of like Splendora they don't have a lot of support on this board. . Huffman has LCM number since we have been in district and I have no idea what they have coming back.. But yes our district is less interesting we don't have any State contenders. We also don't have a lot of Rah Rah guys that support their schools on here in our district. LCM fans are scared to talk but they do a lot of talking in the stands Friday night. Cardinal Backer your the only devoted bird in the tree. Lumberton has a few, and the rest????
