I'm here just don't comment a lot. At this time of year I'm wishing every team in our area good luck, and wanting to see everybody next week and will continue unless you run into Newton.

Never said you were scared, you can't be if you expect to win. Woodville has a good team no doubt. It is pointless talking about a game that will never happen, maybe you beat Newton, maybe you don't. We will never know. If you are not scared then Cameron is not the name which shall not be mentioned.

It doesn't mean anything because if there was anything to it Kirbyville never would have beat Buna. Case in point. Buna beat Trinity 42-8, Buna beat Cold Spring, Cold Spring Beat Kirbyville, Kirbyville Beat Trinity 28-27 so according to your logic Kirbyville should have stayed home instead of playing Buna, a game which Kirbyville couldn't win.

You can take all that comparing common opponents and throw it out the door, it means nothing. You haven't been paying attention to any football games in our area.

Maybe you need to look at the coach. There are athletes in every region. Burkeville use to be a powerhouse, I do not think it is because they no longer have any athletes that they have fallen. I have seen coaches draw fire from kids, instill a belief that they can and should win, hold onto that block one more second, get one more yard, hold onto the ball carrier help is coming, shed that block. You have to believe in yourself or the battle is lost before you set foot on the field. Practices have to prepare you for what is coming on Friday night, a battle that requires a lot of physical energy(conditioning), mental energy (thinking) I can not physically overpower my man, what can I do different to defeat him, wear him down, maybe go at his feet or go around grind on him wear him out physically. Have you ever seen a close ball game and then after half time two different teams step on the field because of adjustments and physical conditioning.

With the athletes their fielding maybe not, but how many athletes are not playing because they are not going to put the effort or time into playing for a losing team. Winning draws athletes out of the woodwork. That is one reason year in and out winning programs win.

If you think he is to hard or tough on the players to be a coach at your school, then that is why mediocrity will rule at your school.

All this talk of translating JV play to varsity play does not work because an amazing thing happens to 14 and 15 yr. old kids; they grow some more than others.
