I have no issues with the score or what happened last night.  Newton was just that much better.  By the time they put the 2s and 3s in last night Kville 1s were so beat down anyone could have scored on them.  Newton was respectful and played very sportsmanship ball.  

Go back and read the comments^^ again hoss. A Newton fan picked us too. Yall may very well take the win. Who knows? But if you're thinking that you've got us based off of our loss to Newton, then I can assure you you're in for a long night. Newton would take Lumberton to the cleaners just as easily.

I'm in agreement.  There is size talent and speed at Kirbyville.  One mistake and they can score..  If Lumberton goes in this game thinking pushover they in trouble.

You are correct. Newton outmatched us in every way, even the backups were scoring. And what's worth noting here is that it wasn't so much that we had a bad defense. We actually looked pretty decent on that side of the ball. But against Newton's offense, there was nothing we could do. I'm telling you, if you're on Newton's schedule this yr, be ready. You'll get the same treatment. It may not be 71-0 but I can assure you.....all of you will lose. 

I think Kirbyville will look like a whole new team playing Lumberton.  This should be a good game and I'm giving Kirbyville the edge. 

Kirbyville has speed and good players.. they will be competitive when time comes. Newton just loaded with talent and speed .. they already ready for the playoffs.  Only one 1st down for Kville tonight correct me if I'm wrong. Newton was kicking field goals on 1st downs early 2nd half. 

71-0 final. Nobody will challenge Newton this yr

Our defense was looking good early on. I saw signs of promise, so I'm hopeful we can put it all together by district. But I do have to say....all the buzz is warranted. Newton is VERY much for real.

Hate to see any kids go through what the Cats have had forced on them the last couple years.  Maybe this coach is in the right place at the right time to lead these guys to their full potential.  Looks like he also believes in Curtis Barbay's theory that you only get better playing better teams.  I hope they stay healthy and get this thing turned around.  I believe it's more fun for everyone when all Southeast Texas teams are playing well.  Go Eagles!

But I can tell you this, if they had....then there would be a lot less disrespect being thrown at us. Like someone said earlier^^, I think a lot of folks are sore from what Kirbyville has done to them on the football field in the past and they're taking this chance to kick us while we're down. I've noticed one very glaring thing though so far....we're getting no disrespect from anyone in Newton. They are going to dismantle us this Friday, but the Newton backers are being very very classy in how they handle it. Thank you. I'll be there cheering my team on no matter what cause....unlike some other teams....we weren't afraid to play the #1 team in the state/nation.

They did step up and play them unlike your Buna Cougars who said no thank you. Coach may need to schedule some salty dogs instead of all the deaf, dumb and blind.
