[/quote]I see this Central team making a strong push for the 2nd place in district.  Worst case would be 3rd.  I know I offense needs to improve some, but the defense will be nice.  If you recall, the 2008 team hung their hat on defense and had subpar offense and that marched us 4 rounds deep in the playoffs.  Same thing with last year's Nederland team.  Their offense was subpar, but that defense was nasty.  My point being is that in this district, the main thing you have to be able defend well in this district.  We'll be legit in that department this year.

I agree with that.  Although I was happy to see us get away from the spread O for the most part, our passing was spotty at best.  I think the QB is coming back this year and hopefully we will see a bit more passing, especially to the TE.

For me that's not a problem, my parents are still working on understanding digital tuners on radios. You know the good radios have knobs you turn to change the channel.

I guess from some of the responses some folks don't want to help their team to win. You have to give the offense every opportunity to succeed and it all starts with the snap count. If your making a lot of noise and there is a motion penalty, don't blame the team, get a mirror and look at yourself. The home field advantage should be that your fans know when to make noise and since they should have more fans than the opposition they should be able to disrupt their offense, not your own. Some of us need to conserve as much of our voice as we can so when the offense is on the field take something for your throat and enjoy, when the defense is on the field raise the roof!

It's not being mean to the BDawgs, I'm just honestly more impressed with Vidors wins over Crosby/Montgomery then yours over GCM/Stratford, and Ozen has beat 2 District champions already with Brenham/BH.

I would expect that thought, everyone wants to see a offense score 40 or more points before they are impressed. But when you run up against a defense that shuts your high powered offense down then your in trouble. Good defenses don't make a lot of headlines but they win games.

The problem with most of the plays of this sort is it takes to long to develop in HS football. To be successfull the delivery of the football has to be faster than the average HS QB can throw it.

The defense set the tone of the game and stood tall all game long but the offense stepped up when they had to. Raines struggled with the pass for most of the game, but when we needed it he threw a strike to Kemler and talking about a clutch catch this guy has it, he kept his eyes on the ball with the defender on him and then spun and put it in the end zone. Great game Dogs!

OK, that's a thought I don't care to even think about!

As far as scoring more points, our offense hasn't had to score a lot this year because of the defense, but when called upon like during the Ozen game they have stepped up and put them on the board. I am looking for a good game and hopefully no injuries.
