Some visions are just to painful to think about.

If they can stay focused next week the numbers should get better!

If Vidorians have the best D in the district how come they have a L in distict...
Were you at the Vidor Nederland game? No i don't think you were so you honestly can't say much about that "L" in our district game. Anyone who was at that game knows full well that we gave Nederland the best game they have had this year and we gave them that game with our LEADING RUSHER at the time out of the game. Not taking anything away from Nederland. They did what they needed to do to win. But IMO they got lucky and if Nederland and Vidor met again it would be a different outcome.
Well if we are lucky, then we have been lucky all year, except for BH when I guess our luck ran out....but wait if our luck ran out at the BH game then wasn't Vidor the next week?
Did I say yall were lucky the whole season? No I did not. I simply said that yall were lucky that night. I can't talk about the other games cuz i wasn't there. I was talking about the Vidor game. That's it.
It's just my opinion but the reason that you lost the game was because late in the 4th when you needed to pin the Dogs deep in their own end your punter hit the worst punt of the night. If the Dogs had been deep in their end could they have driven down the field in the time left, I'm not sure. But when you give them the ball on the 40 they had a short field and that was not good for you guys. -
Are you sure we really want to wake smitty up? He may want to fire the cheerleaders next, you know they haven't been quite as vocal this year like they have been in the past ;)

I think the real test for the Dogs is this Friday, it's not hard to get up for the big games but when you know you should win easily it can be distracting. The Dogs need to stay focused and not let down any.

South......scoreboard end.
I am on the north 40 So we will have to be real loud to hear each other. -

Nederland gets no one's respect, except from a few PNG and Vidor fans. We are just a walk in the park.
YIn football, there is absolutely no substitute for a great defense. I personally love defensive football, and so do most die hards. It's what the fans scream for D-E-F-E-N-S-E !!!!!
I will be 14 rows up on the 34 yard line and you will hear me!!!

North or south? -
Yep, and has a good nose for the ball!
-
I know that Livingston is one of the oldest towns in Texas, but they need to realize that the forward pass was introduced around 1905, because if they worked on that a little bit they would be real tough to beat!
-
You think for one second that smitty is going to admit that the Dogs are playing lights out defense? So if you want him out of the closet, bring up a new bond proposal :o

I was wondering when we would hear about Livingston playing without their RB, and how they would have won had he played. You can't just insert a missing player and say you would win. Heck, he would just be another in a line of players we put the brakes on. He couldn't be tougher to bring down than your QB. That guy is a hoss!
Livingston RB Devonte Mayes
37 carries 416 yards 11.24 yds per 8 TD's
You lose that kind of production, it will hurt any team. Now, would it been the difference of Livingston winning or losing, that is all speculative. But he would have made a difference in the game, no doubt.
Corbin Carr for Nederland would have made a difference in the game too, but we didn't have him. If we lose the game last night, i don't think we make excuses for not having him on the field. Nederland has held every team they've played this year to well below their averages in ppg. Have we been full strength all year? No. No team ever is. You play with what you have available. This is not tennis or golf, it's a team sport.
Have not heard much about Carr.......My point is everyone on here knows that Bull was the playmaker for Livingston, and that is without someone telling me about him.
Take a few moments and talk to the PNG QB, he can tell you a lot about Carr and Couron they stayed in his face all night ;D -
Maybe they need to sue you for putting all this stuff out here and causing those Dogs to get all made and putting a hurting on their team ;D Sorry, I can't write it as good as coach pops!
-
I don't think this Dog D got nearly full of QB last week, Livingston may think they are ready but weather they are or not the Dogs are coming, every down!

Rumor has it that the 2 players on suspension are back on campus and were working out with the team at practice yesterday. Do not know if they will be allowed to play against Livingston or not. I know rumors are Nasty so has anyone else heard anything on this??
Why was their suspension cut in half? ;)
Someone thought that this forum was getting kind of slow after all the pages on the Vidor / Nederland thread so they wanted to liven things up ;)
;D

May this thread rest in peace!

AAW, in all honesty, this is a newsworthy story, you reported, it, everyone knows what happened, and the kids were punished. What else is there?
Once we start down the road to......"well I heard this happened", or "let's compare it to this", then hearsay and rumors start, which is totally unfair to the kids involved, and juvenile at best.
What was your question? I can't browse 11 pages to find it.

Why was their 30 day suspension cut in half?
Go read this at PAN http://panews.com/sports/x914920443/Versatile-Carr-anchors-Dogs-defensive-front especially the part at the bottom that says "The exact length of the suspensions depend on each student following a set of steps set up by the school district…." -

I wouldn't get too excited about Ned's D. They could be missing as many as 5. Good Luck to both teams.
Where did this number come from? -
You believe the media? I have never heard of a punishment where they have a list of things to do in order to be reinstated. Normally you are given the punishment, you serve your time and then you are reinstated. I just find it to be a huge coincidence that only the 2 football players have been released early and the 3 others are still finishing out their punishment. What is that teaching the kids?
Our world is full of such, ever heard about probation...serve your time and it comes off your record. Not only are you reinstated but your record is clean. How about this one a friend of mine damaged a house that was not being lived in, he was on probation until he made full restitution to the home owner. This happens more times than we think. -
All I wanted to know was why the 30 day punishment was cut in half? Just curious, could be a valid reason.
I am not passing judgement on anyone that's involved.
There was a quote in the panews when it happened happened that stated the suspension was for six weeks if the players did nothing but the school district had given them a list of things that they had to do before they could be reinstated and when they were complete they would be allowed to return. Does anyone in their right mind think they would pick Livingston over PNG. If you think so then you are not from Nederland. If they have been released then they have completed the task assigned by the administration.

I think I speak for all of Nederland with this comment. It is nice to know that we can clinch a playoff spot in week 8, but a District Championship is what we want.
Keep it going Dogs!
Agreed..... One game at a time.
Yep, stay focused, one game at a time.
