1. I could have missed something but i don't think i saw a defensive stunt all night. Just straight up rush the QB. How many other teams had 8 sackes by their DE's last week?
 2. This group is real special, Kolby doesn't react much on the field but lets his play tell you how he feels. They were not a happy bunch after they gave up the TD. You could see it in there faces. I wonder how many yards they gave up after the TD, I don't think many.
 3. Because of injuries our tight end was playing on the inside positions of the offense most of the night he wore #70 because of that move. He will play tight end and d-line most of the year.
 4. I think Carson will run when he gets ready to run. I don't think anyone is stopping him, he would rather throw the ball than run.
 5. No worries, we always did like being the underdog!
The ''Beast"" is playing safety......
So he's not going to get a chance to play qb?
not unless something happens to force the issue, but that beast would rather play defense and hit people than play QB. After Carson is gone you could have 3 or 4 battling in the off season for the starting spot and all are very capable. I thought Carson threw the ball well and I think he will have a good year. Our offensive line is always a work in progress the first few weeks, but it always comes together.
policy is simple really; the best player plays.
The best player will play QB in the next few years for Nederland and always has under Neumann. Raines will finish out tenure this year. Job well done. Next year, the nod goes to then Sr. White.  He's got a nice arm.  He's tall and athletic. After that, Smith, accurate passer, good hands with the ball, tall and strong as well. Both White and Smith strong arms on the mound in baseball as well, don't see them getting "looked over" on the gridiron.  I didn't see much in the interloper who transferred in, not quick at all, running the ball, not a strong passer, really doesn't perform to Ned's QB standard, kinda shaking my head???? (Guess we just have a crop of QBs if needed.)
I saw a few years when it would have been nice to have had 6 QB's. We may have been able to keep 2 ready to play :)
Thats why i brought up the question of how good the back-up was. Seems like the QBs at NED always sustain some type of injury every year. kinda strange.
Yea, it seems like the job NOT to have in Ned. It's kinda of flukey, really strange, too that Ned has lost so many QBs to injuries.  Is it the offense ran? Or just bad luck?
I think it has been some of both. Wen most of the injuries occured it was when we ran the spread and that put the QB in the most danger. We are back to the one and two back formation. The more you hand-off the less your QB takes a lot of abuse. Most of our QB injuries were fluke injuries so it could have happened on any type of offense. One QB planted his leg to turn and his knee gave out,  another had his hand stepped on so they really didn't happen because of the type of offense.

 8. I could be wrong but I understand that the varsity will play 4 x 12.
 9. Better get your bark tuned up bigdog only 13 days till they take the field and the fun begins.
 10.

I think Central and Ozen battle it out for the last spot, or possibly for third/fourth spot. If Central improves their offensive schemes and utilize their talent to their potential, they will get the fourth spot.  Ozen will give them a tough fight. Vidor might or might not be a question mark for the playoffs depending on the first few games of district.  They were definitely playing with a lot of emotion after the passing of their teammate, and that carried them into the playoffs.  We will see if they can keep that momentum going, especially if Central improves.  I voted for them to make it. Ned and PNG should be in the playoffs unless something really wild happens.
I see this Central team making a strong push for the 2nd place in district.  Worst case would be 3rd.  I know I offense needs to improve some, but the defense will be nice.  If you recall, the 2008 team hung their hat on defense and had subpar offense and that marched us 4 rounds deep in the playoffs.  Same thing with last year's Nederland team.  Their offense was subpar, but that defense was nasty.  My point being is that in this district, the main thing you have to be able defend well in this district.  We'll be legit in that department this year.
I agree with that.  Although I was happy to see us get away from the spread O for the most part, our passing was spotty at best.  I think the QB is coming back this year and hopefully we will see a bit more passing, especially to the TE.
I hear the TE is moving to DE
Just in case its still raining at kickoff Saturday those Dogs practiced out in that nasty weather today. They will be ready!
That's what I love about watching this group of Dogs, they do whatever it takes to win. You can't coach that but you can get on board and ride to victory.
 12.
If you are around a computer you can catch Nederland or most any playoff game tsrnsports
For me that's not a problem, my parents are still working on understanding digital tuners on radios. You know the good radios have knobs you turn to change the channel.
 13. I don't know, but I know a lot of people that hope they do.
 14. I guess from some of the responses some folks don't want to help their team to win. You have to give the offense every opportunity to succeed and it all starts with the snap count. If your making a lot of noise and there is a motion penalty, don't blame the team, get a mirror and look at yourself. The home field advantage should be that your fans know when to make noise and since they should have more fans than the opposition they should be able to disrupt their offense, not your own. Some of us need to conserve as much of our voice as we can so when the offense is on the field take something for your throat and enjoy, when the defense is on the field raise the roof!
It's not being mean to the BDawgs, I'm just honestly more impressed with Vidors wins over Crosby/Montgomery then yours over GCM/Stratford, and Ozen has beat 2 District champions already with Brenham/BH. Not saying Bulldogs aren't really really good, just more impressed with Ozen/Vidor.
I would expect that thought, everyone wants to see a offense score 40 or more points before they are impressed. But when you run up against a defense that shuts your high powered offense down then your in trouble. Good defenses don't make a lot of headlines but they win games.
 16. The problem with most of the plays of this sort is it takes to long to develop in HS football. To be successfull the delivery of the football has to be faster than the average HS QB can throw it.
 17. The defense set the tone of the game and stood tall all game long but the offense stepped up when they had to. Raines struggled with the pass for most of the game, but when we needed it he threw a strike to Kemler and talking about a clutch catch this guy has it, he kept his eyes on the ball with the defender on him and then spun and put it in the end zone. Great game Dogs!
 18. Fifteen yard penalty to Galena Park.for not opening the stadium till 12:00 on the dot. Don't they know dog fans show up early.
 19. Not so Proud, it's so they can finish running the commercials on the Bulldog Network ;D
 20. Didn't know that, could be useful information!
