1.
Congrats on what could the first of several as you guys have lots of youth on this team and a really good group of Fish!
Even though we are very young this year, I expect some of those fish to stir up the water next year.
2. Our offense is still a work in progress this is no time to think you have it made we need do keep on working and improving.
3. The only problem with that scenario would be were would the other teams sit?
4. Well how about the Indians in an early game and the Dogs in the late game so we could have a Mid County D1, D2 championships.
5. Maybe so, I just wish he would go ahead and predict a championship ;D
6. At the start of the season who would have thought the Dogs would hold two teams scoreless and keep almost all the rest under 300 yards of offense.
7. I think most of you guys are missing the point, if I understand it correctly Crosby didn't want to agree on a neutral site last time so they forced the coin flip. They won and made us travel to their stadium to play. Why should we pick a neutral site and do them a favor? I would make them come to the Pound and get the full effect of all the Dog fans ;D
8.
PLAY AT DA' BUTCH!!! ;D
Crosby forced us into playing at their stadium, why would we want to play at Butch, the distance is not any different and the home field is worth more!
9. Congratulations are certainly in store for this group of Dogs, last night was a real statement of this groups attitude which appears to be never give up. Any one of the number of things that happened last night could have made them get frustrated but I never saw it, they just kept working and after chasing Green all night, the Big Dogs up front got the last laugh Green had no where to go but down. Great game Dogs stay focused and keep playing like there is no tomorrow!
10. I think we played more of a containment defense tonight. It appeared to me that we were just trying to keep the QB under control and not just put pressure on him. That appeared to take some of the intensity out of the line, but in the end they got the sack that counted.
11. Will all Bulldog fans please report to the stadium. Your needed to help with a special event that has not taken place since 1965. Don't be late._
12. That guy would be the top TE in Texas if they threw to him more!
13. #90 - De Shawn Washington can also play defense. He hasn't had to much this year, but he is a load when he goes in and we don't lose much!
14. What do you mean eat crow? With a good DC we wouldn't have given up any scores this year!..........smitty
15. I have seen a lot of bad officiating but that night had to be the worst ever!
16. Ozen should know all about field position, basically that's what cost them the game last year. You can't give the Dogs the ball deep in your end of the field with very little time left on the clock, more times than not they will find a way to score!
17. The one factor that everyone keeps forgetting about, District Championship! Dogs rule :)
18. I don't remember the teams, but when I was young there was several instances of people messing with the buses so most of the local teams started having escorts. Some folks think it is fun harassing the buses but we know from the Beaumont incident several years ago bad things can happen real quick.
19. You know Bum and Wade were invited to MCM, I hear that Alf has been called out of retirement to show up at this game.
20.
Seriously, do you deny that Devonte Mays would not have made a difference against Nederland. Not saying that Nederland loses if Mays plays, just saying it would have been a different game. I have friends with kids playing for Nederland that agree. Mays wears you down. I still think Nederland beats Livingston, but I think it is a close game with Mays. To deny that is to show your Football ignorance and I don't think you are football ignorant. Also if we use your reasoning above, PNG will destroy Vidor Friday night because we blew out Ozen and Lumberton. You and I both know that wont be hapening. Nederland was better than PNG that night. Not by much. Just like they were better than Vidor that night they played your guys, but not by much.
One of the problems with all of us fans is that when we compare games we always assume that everything stays the same. If we would have done this or if that player would have done that then we would have won. In reality we don't have a clue because we assume the other team plays exactly the same. When we played Livingston we threw a curve at them on defense, and they called two time outs in the first drive because they couldn't figure out our defense and they didn't have an answer all night long. We came out in a 5 - 2 defense and they had never seen it before, so saying what the "Bull" would have done is purely theoretical because no one up till that point had played against that defense! Back on topic, PNG takes this one I don't know the score but I predict that Cherokee gets played in excess of 100 times.
21.
ozen has a playoff spot to play for.nederland coaches will call the game not to lose which will cause the players to play not to lose instead of going for the the knock out punch.its a ned tradition since 1965.be prepared for an ozen upset??????????
If that were true then Friday night they should have been coaching not to lose against a team that hasn't won a game, but that wasn't the case and I don't expect Friday night to be any different. If they did try anything like that I would expect the fans to get on their case real quick. I believe the outright DC is that important to the team and the fans! I think we keep the foot on the pedal and not look back, besides that how do you coach a defense not to lose? Ask Lumberton, you start thinking you can move the ball and these guys prove you wrong. Dog 'D' pounds the cats ;D
22. Bottom line is the coaching staff keeps working on the things that need to be improved on. The defense never gave them an inch and by the third quarter Lumberton was still playing but without as much enthusiasm as the start of the game. The Dog's won and continue to get better and that's all that counts.
23. you are right, better not take anyone for granted or they will put a 'L' in the column. Stay focused and keep improving!
