  1. I spoke to Jim last week at length and told him I’d be in attendance for the SC/WB next weekend at Campbell. He mentioned he doesn’t do rankings anymore. Also no mention of talking with anyone about them. My first state Tournament was in 1982, in support of Beaumont Hebert, but I have no recollection of it. The first Erwin center trip I can remember with frontal lobe development is 1988, with BJ Tyler and company (also Sallier if I’m not mistaken). And have been to 90% of them since that point. I am not a media person, but again it’s just my opinion. No need to apologize, I’m just kindly providing insight.
  2. Yes, coaches from the entire state correct? How would a coach from Abilene have knowledge of the details of which I just mentioned.? Thank you for explaining your prediction. I would kindly ask for future consideration with your predictions that you look at other platforms like GASO and Billionairevsns Magazine who produce state rankings and I think are more accurate than TABC. I’ve only been watching UIL Basketball since 1985 and this is just my opinion.
  3. What factors do you have for putting BU first and WB second albeit you have more detailed information than the coaches (district predictions) and contributors from other areas (state rankings) including new transfers and new assistant coaches?
  4. Can I make a bold prediction for a 4 game series between WB/BU? YMBL 2x in District play Regional final (if Sterling doesn’t make playoffs)
  5. I don’t think Mr. Brad Ernst and/ or coaches if they have a vote, have all of the information if TABC has BU ranked over WB. Not sure if he knows of a high level wing transfer and also 6’10” transfer lol
  6. Brook v BU for the region championship once again. Semifinals will be an easy dub. The Corpus Team lost its star player to SMU as he reclassified. His dad is at Duncanville. If Sterling somehow makes the playoffs, BU will go Division 2 Mt Belvieu Barbers Hill 2092 Beaumont United 2138 Beaumont West Brook 2234 Baytown Lee 1819 Baytown Sterling 2139 Nederland 1484.5 Port Arthur Memorial 2114 Port Neches-Groves 1701
  7. Looks like it’s Colten Callahan. 6’10” and class of 2027 [Hidden Content]==
  8. I assume Garrett didn’t play if they only won by 3. He’s likely still recovering. Is there a 6’8” transfer from Vidor on the team?
  9. Living in Houston and having close friends on staff and in administration at NS, the WG coaching progression has me baffled. This guy is an alum and knows what it takes to connect with these kids. But the Calicut situation has made an impact on the program. The kid that was with him was also on the team. Morale factor is certainly playing a part in this early season. He got shot in retaliation and died. This may be one of the better stories if they snap back and get to the finals. I know the parents and uncle of Kaleb Maryland. That kid has the juice. NS has lost early before and came back to run the table. More to come.
  10. Monday Mood 😎🥇 EL Campeon [Hidden Content]
  11. And where are you from? I would say the number of state basketball championships Beaumont has that your comment wasn’t well thought out
  12. I am West Brook basketball alumni. First time seeing my school in the state tournament and final and this feels great. When I saw former WB Coach Charlie B get honored. Along with 2000 Willowridge. I knew we would win. TJ Ford’s wife is WB alumni as well
  13. Check right now and show me how difficult it is to book a room in downtown Austin. After you confirm. Give me another reason. SWSX has books and art this weekend
  14. And it’s clear and obvious why you don’t like Austin
  15. As I reflect on my journey from west Houston to San Antonio. And my many trips to The Drum for the state tournament. Starting in 1987 With the new format they could bring it to the moody center. Nothing like Austin for the state championships. SA doesn’t compare
  16. Blowout City. This is a mismatch
  17. Exactly why I’ll be in the Alamodome at noon tomorrow
  18. I hate to say this but it’s true. The San Antonio/ Region 4 competition is not as difficult as the Houston or Dallas Regions. Now CCVM did beat 6A state finalist Katy Jordan early in the season here in Houston in the Vype Invitational. However both SA Brennan (6A) and CCVM both lost yesterday. Both were TABC polls #1 team in each classification. What’s funny is MaxPreps had WB as the #1 team in 5A the majority of this season. The region 4 competition is also weaker in football with the exception of Westlake and Vandergrift
  19. I would say they certainly missed a few calls. Especially on CCVM
  20. WB will be playing Larry Birdville (jk) WB v Birdville 5A D1 State Final 1pm at the Alamodome
  21. I am not where you are from but it doesn’t take an hour to get anywhere in Beaumont. Look at the furthest distance from a zone to either high school and tell me the mileage and amount of a time it would take a bus to arrive. At max 20/30 minutes which is a typical bus ride
  22. Yes 21,000 students in Allen ISD and 16,000 in Beaumont ISD. The square mileage would only be a factor for the high school level. It can work
