Newton enrollmen 296 Wos enrollment 594 per the UIL surely Newton didnt stand a chance to win???? Can we please stop whining about which school has the most students, or players!!!!! I guarantee to u that Newton did not come into this game with an inferiority complex abot who had the most students, or players. THEY EXPECTED TO WIN!!!!! The same goes for making excuses for the QB because he's a sophomore,  he is not average because he's in the 10th grade, he's average because thats what he is!!!!!! Wos has had outstanding sophomore Qb`s & that didnt prevent them from performing at a high level : Rusty Doyle started as a sophomore,  over a senior.  He led wos to their first district championship as a senior,  in a much tougher district. Eric Anderson started as a freshman , had an outstanding career at wos, and lest not forget that Dillion was a sophomore last year & everybody knows what he did!!!!! And please before some people put Thompson on
Mount Rushmore for all of his great decision  making & judgement of talent, lets not forget that he is the same person who insisted that Adrian Peterson play defense & was promptly ran out of town, and he is certainly partly ,if not totally the reason why Dillon is no longer at wos. Not to mention last week having 4 downs to make a total of 3 yards & didnt gain an inch. 4th & 1 & 2nd & 2 for a first down. Everybody knows the plays that were called. Before the attacks come, Im just stating facts, nothing personal,  if it were me, or my own son id say the same thing. Come at me with some facts & objectivity or dont come at all.  By the way i agree with Ladybug 100% people in Orange are resistant to change of ANY kind!!!!!!!

Smh at you WOS doomsayers. These are kids, literally kids, and they will make mistakes some nights, be overconfident some nights, and let a quality program hit them in the mouth some nights (as our friend Gata would say). Some of you WOS fans are just spoiled rotten. Please send your coaching staff and players to a school that would appreciate them!

.........we "newton " had the same feeling WOS has right now after last weeks loss to orangefield , but little did we know that loss pushed us to the limit and over the hump and brought the team together and yes we just knocked off WOS something to be very proud of,thanks orangefield,......and for all that spoiled rotten to winning stuff hit newton last week to, people started questioning and being fussy omg we are losing games smh , .....and congrats to the our coaching staff job well done I myself never had no doubt, ..........long story short WOS will be fine let the coaches do their jobs, and who ever they play next week should be concerned that they are playing WOS because they are coming in hot

Don't give up on us just yet, if we can weather the WOS storm without injuries we will be ready come district, and also see where we really stand in our divison come the CC game, our playoff tradition will still continue.

I was working at the District Clerks office in Newton one day and the fire siren went off.... They still have one of those. The best part is that immediately after the whistle, a city of Newton backhoe comes flying up the street and whips into the fire department. The guy jumps behind the wheel of the firetruck and fires that mutha up....I'm just shaking my head when a guy comes up the street in a COVERED FREAKING WAGON and clippity-clops over to the firehouse and hops onto the fire truck, too. That place is like going back in time about fifty years.

.......it's called a volunteer fire department, sorry that's all we have, lives and houses have been saved from that man on the backhoe and the person in the covered freaking wagon.

parking is ok i guess, might get there a little early so you dont have to park onside of 190, that is worst case, just turn in second drive way of the school and pick a spot, "to the right in the grass across from main gate is gonna be the best", i think the stadium sits 2500 not 100% sure,

Harris poll has WOS by 24 over Newton, they also have Newton @ number 8 in the state in 3a-d2, and have WOS @ number 3 in 4a-d2.

Also think Newton loses to LC-M, Jasper and maybe Silsbee.

.......I will agree to a extent, I just hope you are not fooled by CC high scoring games, they have yet to play decent competition, don't get me wrong I'm not taking away from them boys ,because they are playing good ball against the type of competition they are playing, we shall see in a couple of weeks
