  1. Did you guys catch the father of the Dugat boys on the radio Friday night' date=' claiming that since the Nederland team didn't pull out the starters against them two years ago in the playoffs that they were going to keep pouring it on Nederland this coming Friday night. I just wanted to let everyone know the facts here. Nederland was whippin Dayton at halftime by over 40 points. 1st team played one offensive series in the second half then the 2nd and 3rd teamers took over. It just felt like we never let up.....some of the same 2nd and 3rd teamers are now seniors for Nederland. This is gonna be a good one. Nederland wins by 3!!!!![/quote']

I sure did hear that BS. What a liar. As I remember, Hood didn't even take a snap in the second half. You'd think that Dugat's father could at least tell the truth and get his facts straight.

  2. I usually don't talk "down" to anyone, but if you don't respect the fact that we have been to the playoffs 10 years in a row, then why should you keep harping on the game you won over Nederland by a 1/2 yard? We take a lot of pride in our record and our kids work just as hard as anyone. The wins don't just come to us, we earn them. If we can't boast about our record, then you should go across the field of the next team you play with a losing record and tell them to take down those school banners and signs the cheerleaders and co. made that say they are "#1".

Good luck to LCM tonight. The wet fields favor a ground game.

  3. No game is an easy win. Players have to work for everything they get. All plays still have to be executed. Final scores can lead you to believe it was easy, but ask the players if it was easy, and see if they are sweating and banged up.

Nederland can win this game if their defense shows up like it did against PNG and Ozen.

    Go Dogs!

  4. I'd just like to say that Micah Mosley is having an all-district year. He has been player of the week several times, and deservedly so, but i just want to give some kudos to Alex Mosier. He's had to play in the shadow of Mosley, so to speak, but has been very consistent at running this offense. In last night's game, he was hitting the long passes and doing everything right. His stats could have been better, save a couple drops, but he was cool in the pocket, even got a 1st down on a QB draw. Congrats to Alex for being a great field general.

  5. I was at this game and do not root for either school but that was ridiculous. Vidor could have easily put that game away but everytime they made a big play a flag was thrown to bring it back. The best was when Brad Croak had a long amazing run' date=' tried to cut back, then the ref drops a flag after croak was on the ground and the play was over. Nederland DB's basically tackled vidor receivers before the ball got there and not one pass interference call was made. I have heard the mid-county schools get calls, but did not know it was that bad. I was really shocked mosely did not punch it in to win the game though. I know one thing for sure, if mosley goes down Nederland will not win a game(except LCM). Great game, both teams played hard.[/quote']

How can you complain about the officiating so much and then say good game?

BTW, all teams suffer if their star goes down.

  6. Well, there are so many Vidor fans on here, I can't remember who I told I would be the first to congratulate them if they shut Mosley down. The yardage he claimed it took to consider Mosley "shut down" was under 120 yards and that wasn't accomplished. However, Vidor fought us tooth and nail and showed lots of resolve to be able to come back from 10 points down with about 2:00 to go. Very excellent clock management and play calling. The onside kick, which everyone knew was coming, was the heartbreaker. When Vidor recovered that ball, I knew we were not going to win this one. My thoughts changed quickly after our long reception down to the 1 with 4 ticks left. However, if we can't make 1 yard, we don't deserve the win.

Congrats to the Vidor players, coaches, band (thank God for a band who can play more than one note), and cheering section. Y'all made this a game to remember, even though we came up on the losing end.

  7. I don't think it is a move to increase his yardage output, though that is a distinct possibility, but more of a move to make sure he has good wind and is energetic in the 4th quarter of the district games coming up. Some of these games will be close and Mosley will be needed 'till the end. When defensive linemen are panting away, Mosley's job will be made easier....at least that's what I read.
