Great post Tigervoice. I agree, he will never play one minute for the Longhorns. He doesn't have what it takes (and I'm not talking about talent). Rick Barnes will not stand for his arrogant attitude. I had heard through the grapevine that Texas had resended their offer? Anyone else heard this???? Hats off to his coach for taking action. Talent isn't everything.......!!

Thank you for the compliment Bobcat05. The kids are great and work hard. Basketball is very important to the community and to the adminstration. It is a great place to be with ALOT of support from parents to administrators. It takes alot of work (as people from Orangefield know), to have a successful program. Everything from the kids taking pride and ownership of THEIR program, to the administration giving you the tools to be successful. We have that at HJ.

It's called a cycle of talent!!!  Don't worry, Coach Wilson is a great coach and he will get them back in contention.  Sometimes you just have to weather the storm.  It is never easy to rebuild after losing an all state player, must less two!!  Those two were two VERY important pieces to the puzzle.  Like I said, Coach Wilson and the Laady Raiders will be fine.

I too congratulate the Orangefield girls and coaching staff.  They have done a great job this year.  The team plays solid defense.  Coach Jost has come into a tough situation and has done a very nice job.  I look forward to a great game when they come to HJ.

Katelyn Bernsen was 2 assists away from a quadruple double........16 points, 11 boards, 10 steals and 8 assists. What a game!

This was a very hard faught game between two very good teams. HJ went sooooo cold and Silsbee had several players that really stepped up and complimented Ang. Great atmoshphere and a great high school game. Congrats Lady Tigers.

Now were talking!!! Great snag Coach Tidwell!! This was a win-win choice! She stays close to home and Lamar puts some local talent on the floor!!! Congrats Ang!! Great young lady and a great talent!

Ang Green gets my vote. She had 33 against a good HJ defense. The girl can go!

After last night (Tues. Dec. 18), my vote goes to Katelyn Bernsen, pt. guard from HJ........24 points, 14 assists and 7 steals............she put on a passing clinic!!!

oh so true! Brittany Scott was one of the best high school players I have seen in a LONG time!!! Anyone know how she is doing at UofH??

There were some very good applicants for that job that were disciplinarians. As I recall, there were several posts on here that said PA needed to hire someone that could "relate" to the kids. Looks like they got what they asked for! If that type of attitude is tolerated, NO ONE wins in the long haul!!

RIDICULOUS!!!! I can't believe there is even a question!!! Suspend him??? I agree with whsalum...he made the decision. This kid has been given chance after chance. What a selfish, arrogant player. There should be no question.....I don't care how good he is. He is in for a rude awkening when he gets to UT. Talent may get you to the college level but character and integrity combined with that talent is what keeps you there! Kick him to the curb coach!

I totally agree. I think it is admirable of you to stand up for your coach and players. Bashing the coach serves no purpose whatsoever other than to be detrimental to a team. It is evident these girls respect their coach and work hard. I have known Coach Smith for years. He is a fine young man and as you say, has a passion for the game. He IS doing a fine job. Even though I am not from Nederland, and contrary to what LUFAN may think, I DO have knowledge and experience when it comes to coaching basketball, I felt the need to defend Coach Smith as well.

You are no idiot LUFAN???.....that's debateable!! and what exactly is your profession??? And how many of Coach Smith's practices have you attended??? People amaze me.......everyone thinks they are a coach. For God's sake, this is the man's profession. I know Coach Smith. He IS first class and he does an excellent job. Get off his case. I don't see him critqueing your profession.
