  1. "I wish people would stop the lies?"  What is that??  It is what it is.
  2. Can you say BISD?????  Unbelievable.....this sounds very typical.
  3. Great job hoops2000.......I'm keepin up with you!  Good Luck..unless you go against my Lady Hawks!
  4. What is the deal with the Beaumont Enterprise??  There were NO scores this morning.  I know for a fact HJ calls their scores in!!  i didn't even see any boy's scores!  If the coaches are going to take the time to call them in, you would think they could at least get them in there!!  The only thing I saw was a big write up on the Ozen-PNG game (girls).
  5. Good Luck this year hoops2000!!  Glad to see you ranked up there!!!
  6. I know the Woodville/Nederland score was like 60 something to 30 something Woodville.
  7. Any score on Orangefield or West Orange Stark?
  8. Congratulations Lady Hawks!!!  LCM was a totally different team than what scrimmaged HJ.  Very scrappy!  HJ will continue to improve!  They are about to get some very stiff competition this weekend from 4 and 5A clubs in the McDonald's Classic in Pasadena.....3 teams!  This will only make them stronger!!! They should be very seasoned by district!  #10 is Page Sirmons.....great kid!
  9. Victoria Fontenot had a triple double for HJ last night.  13 players on the varsity and they all contributed.  Great defense holding Huffman to 25 points!
  10. I can tell you how it felt.......it felt like we were at a tournament!!!!  The gym is nice though.....and the kids looked good!
  11. Kingwood Park should definitley be in the top 3.  They beat HJ last year and have pretty much everyone back, including a VERY good post player.  Good job Cat22.  Should be a fun season!
  12. I figured it out as soon as I hit send hoops........I knew exactly who you were.......thanks again for the kind words. WE were the lucky ones......it could have been alot worse!!!! Your teams play GREAT pressure man and, as I recall, we had some trouble with that!!! Good Luck next year!!!!
  13. Anthony, you did a tremendous job at the helm for the past 3 years. Congratulations on, not only a great year this year, but reviving that program. Good Luck to you. Carol Sims Hardin Jefferson
  14. OK hoops, you've got me stumped. I have tracked my brain here. I know I should know who you are but it escapes me right now. Give me a hint........and thank you for the nice comments.
  15. Thank you Lin. I always enjoyed visting with you because you were ALWAYS trying to find a way to make your kids better. I hope to see you next year at the McDonald's classic.........this time as a spectator though!!! Good Luck Lin.
  16. Can you say NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP????? Kim Mulkey was there salavating!!!! This girl is phenominal!!! She will change the face of women's basketball. She is so much more than a "dunker". She has the prettiest touch on the ball. In 2 games she missed 3 shots (40+ ponts the first game , 23 the second). And don't EVEN think about going to the rim!!! She was also very unselfish and seemed to have a great demeanor. Baylor just got even better!
  17. Thank you all so much for the kind words. This was not an easy decision but after 30 years as a head coach, it's time for someone else to take the reigns. I have had so many wonderful memories over the years. I have been so blessed to have been able to make a career doing something I have loved doing. Great players make good coaches and I have had alot of those. Not only have I had the opportunity to coach good players, I have coached so many fine young ladies. I can not imagine having a job more satisfying than working with young people and helping to mold their lives. To my brother......thanks for all of your support. You have been my biggest fan and I will miss calling you after games to talk about things. There were nights when I was so excitedthat I couldn't sleep and nights when I was so disappointed I couldn't sleep, and you listened through all of them!!!! You have always been there for me and I love you for it. Thanks to the Hardin Jefferson adminstration for having faith in me some 12 years ago. I have had the TOTAL support of this adminstration. In my opinion, there is not a better school district, community, or better kids than what you will find at HJ. It has been a tremendous ride and now, I'm going to sit in those stands and cheer on my Lady Hawks!!! (That's got to be easier on my knees!) Thanks to everyone who has supported me over the years. It has been a blast!
