A game 3 between Silsbee & HJ or a coin toss. I would think game 3 would be at a neutral site. Game 3 would be interesting to see which coach makes the necessary adjustments to win.

TxHoops no disrespect to the coach at HJ but to have an opportunity to win district and not face Yates in the Area Round of the playoffs and you score only 39 points against an opponent with a losing record in district play. HJ and HF were both coming off Big Wins over Silsbee, so both teams were playing good ball. Where was the half time adjustments or changing the original game plan??? How many points did HJ score in the first half ??? considering they finished with only 39???

Silsbee Basketball tradition should motivate this team for their remaining 2 games. The seniors on this team have to step up and lead this team into the playoffs.

Keeping the light on that we (Yates) play Silsbee in Huntsville. Bush finished with almost 50 pts. Yates average 30 pts a qtr. It’s going to be a fun game against Silsbee when we hook up

Ok, first HISD is not doing any favors for Yates. The rumor is the school district originally denied Doakes transfer. Yates has to fight with The Athletic Director for HISD to get anything done. Doakes is going through some issues that is more important then basketball (I can’t say what the issue is). Doakes should enroll at a prep or private school next year and reclassify for the 2020-2021 year. Second, district 22 & 23 are similar regarding the level of competition. You have your elite teams in Yates & Silsbee and everyone else. HJ would finish 2nd in both districts. Yates would dominate district 22, and Silsbee like wise in district 23.

AggiesAreWe please check your sources regarding information on Yates. Doakes did not play on Wednesday 01-15-2020 against Wheatley. Doakes has not played for Yates this season. Doakes is still in street clothes. I will update this thread if he is in uniform today. FYI, I am one of several volunteers for the boys basketball team and I have not missed a game this season.
