Final Yates 46 Montverde 98 Yates was not in there full court press for this game. This is the result when you have a public school playing an Elite Academy. The games were blowouts but it allowed the kids an opportunity to play against elite talent that we don’t see in the area. It was going to be an up hill battle to beat those teams and without the team at full strength while it was a beat down. I applause Coach Wise for not backing down from the challenge after knowing that he would not have his full squad available. These games are know behind us and we look forward to district play and playoffs. Again I applause Wise for playing the #1 or #2 team in the country and not being satisfied with just playing good to average teams in Texas.

I agree, the game tomorrow will be ugly, unless Montverde goes to the wrong stadium. It’s funny because teams /fans in our district remind us that one day a team will beat Yates similar to the way Yates beat teams and that day has arrived. This may be a 60 pt loss tomorrow

It’s takes a very talented, and special team to upset those academy/prep schools. Yates upset then powerhouse Oak Hill Academy with a group of neighborhood kids (before the communication program).

BABSANTA, I truly believe Beaumont United could play with anyone. I have seen them play twice this year and I like their height and team speed. Their my pick for San Antonio. You probably know more about this team then I do, what is your opinion about Beaumont United???

Duncanville is the host school and better equipped as a team to play with Sierra Canyon, Yates Fans are just thrilled to be invited to play in this tournament with so many elite and highly ranked teams and having an opportunity to play in an NBA Arena. I expect Yates will get the brakes beat off them this weekend but I applause Coach Wise for playing knowing he doesn’t match up with either team this weekend. We probably won’t see Yates at full strength until district play.

I was only informing those individuals that was not aware of the tournament Sir. It was only a public announcement aboutThe competition that will take place in Duncanville. Thank You, Yates will eat plenty of humble pie this weekend in Dallas, but this is nothing new to our program. Yates will continue to schedule or attempt to play those elite teams during the pre-season. Coach Wise rarely plays 4A schools during the pre-season because it doesn’t make the team better. Yates has to play those schools because the district play is so weak. Please remember these losses will prepare the team for the playoffs in 4A, region III
