I can't believe this was the SAME crew as last year. If so, they were bad last year and worse this year. WOS has NEVER had officials in their pockets, I would say we are probably the most penalized team in the area. Seems like we have to overcome the refs EVERY game. I have talked to refs who hated to work WOS games because of Dan Hooks.
 
I certainly agree they were confused. Actually to me they looked like they have never worked together.

In the end (no pun intended) all any team can ask for is a chance to win the game and even with the uneven officiating both team still hard their shot. Truly a great game and hard one to lose for PNG but great experience for both teams.

Jasper vs. WOS is ALWAYS one of those games that is a slugfest. Would not expect anything less than that this time around either. Any coach named Barbay has a tough team to beat.

Just a FYI DT was selected to the USA National team and played against the Canadian team and guess who the head coach was, it was PNG's Coach Faircloth. So they know each other and him talking to coach on the sidelines was probably not negative in nature. I know this because I was there with my son on the other US team and spoke to DT he is a good kid with respect for coaches. The boys from both teams have been on twitter congratulating each other on such a great game and that shows just how great both teams really are. Athletes are competitive and they will get chippy during games, but in the end both teams respect each other and hope they have a great year. We as adults should used this example and move on getting ready for our next opponent.

We get on here all the time and gripe about refs and half the time it's excuses with a little bit of sore loser thrown in. I'm telling you it was ridiculous last night for both teams. 10 minute discussions on flags and ball spots. They didn't have a clue.

I agree with one thing..it was the worst officiated game since last  year at the reservation. Bad calls all the way around on both sides. WOS sucked it up and won with a kid who hadn't played qb EVER in a varsity game and probably not since freshman year maybe longer. When is the last time the Mustangs won a game with the ground game. Great game by two great teams. PNG is very good, we kinda slowed them down with our pass rush in the second half and they had to keep the back into block. Great QB PNG has, they should win that district in my mind this year. You just don't come from 2 TD's behind and beat a team like PNG, proud of the heart we showed tonight.

Silsbee lost a lot from last year..it's a young team and they won't grow overnight to be what they were last year. Give them some time to figure things out. If I know the Tigers, they will get it turned around. Good luck guys, CS is a beast for anyone (we here at WOS know something about that).

To sum it all up in my opinion it's not a win for PNG on the record books but it's a win for both teams for the experience they got it this game and they will both benefit from it....great win for WOS

As far as blitzing our young Qb, LCM tried that in the first half and gave up some points. They had to back off.

Hard to pass when your on your back. That is what WOS will try to do. Mr. Dallas is our Qb, that is a done deal. It will be very close game. Got to go with my Stangs 14-13. But, i have to admit i would not be surprised to see PNG on top. These are two outstanding teams. WOS is trying to get to the level we were last year and I don't think we are quite there yet this early but we will be. The special teams may decide this one.

Ok, let's just play on facts here. DuBois is a very good coach and HJ is a good and well coached team. ANYTIME you can win a game in Jasper it is a hard earned win. Jasper did lose a lose a lot of kids and sometimes it takes a game or two to see what you have and what changes you need to make. HJ is a senior laden team and is very talented with a offense that is tough to defense. HJ should finish at the very least second place in the district and should go I would think several rounds deep in the playoffs.
 
I know how excited you guys are after being whipping boys for so many years. It's fun and contagious. I admire the fact that you stand by your team. However, to say that WOS is scared of ya'll, seriously we are respectful of what your doing but we really don't care. We expect to win EVERY game including ours with you. Now we don't always do that but we expect to. WOS has a few places to get better before we meet you but don't think this is the same WOS as last year either. We are much more physical and have a power run game added ourselves. It will be a heckuva game. To paraphrase Ric Flair, "To be the man you have to beat the man." We will see you on the field.
