None Taken Mr. Garrity but I saw Jalen last year and he was impressive and so was Jefferies. Both kids are studs. However, when this defense of the Brook starts flying to the ball they shuts a team down. North Shore last year would have put Hatches 3-4 defense to bed in the 1st quarter and poured it on all night long. I take nothing away from CV's accomplishments up until this point but one thing about Peevey and his version of the 3-4 which I hate is he knows how to make in game adjustments. The difference is that the LB's are faster and hungry but young. I will not bet on the Brook because my son is on the team but if I he wasn't my money would be on the Brook!!!

North Shore Dad we must have saw 2 different games or it's a game where we can both look at it and fabricate the story. Truth be told the game was 7 -7 and then 10 - 7 in 2nd quarter and then the wheels came off for the Brook. Your QB Micah Long has been putting up some pretty good numbers even in your losses. Tristan Houston is not having that powerful year like last year however both kids are studs and our kids played those 2 D1 caliber guys and kept them bottled up for the most part. Now you can try and sell everybody else on the bull that NS is the NS of old but you and I know that is far from the truth. 6 points is all you had and I think you all had the ball just about 1 series less than the 1st half. Good game to the North Shore kids and good luck in your futures.

Watch what I tell you just as the Defense silenced Long and Houston they will also hush Hurts and Jefferies!!! Defense is a lot better than people think!!! North Shore did not give those kids nothing. Every TD and every yard were earned and I saw a NS coaching staff that was scrambling for an answer. They tried to keep pouring it on but that defense closed those doors that were open in the 1st half! Remember the score was 23 -7 going into half and then NS produced a 6 point half. Memorials defense is really just not that good. Those kids are young but will season later. Watch when we head to Channel View next week. Our kids will beat CV!!! I promise!!!

Proud of my boy!!! He and his teammates showed resolve!!! 17 carries for 130 yards 1 TD and 1 46 yard reception for a TD!!! Demarcus My Boy You Are Awesome!!! Almost!!! Some People Are Just Negative!!!

I think that the Brook will be fine as long as NS don't give us a heavy dose of their version of young Mike Jaquet. It seems that every team for the last 3 games has scrapped their own playbook to do what Jaquet did and it has worked up until the second half of Katy Taylor.

@Brook Alumni - I hope he and the rest of the Bruins make you proud!!! As for that other thing that you crave so deeply, all I can say is, that'll work itself out. Keep being a Bruin and I love your passion!!!

 

I see more of an issue with play calls and not being so predictable on offense. There is way to much talent on the offensive side of the ball to only score 7 points in a 6A high school football game!!! Hudl provides plenty of scouting material and breaks down a teams tendencies to put together a game plan on defense, But looks like defense better be ready in the trenches as well for this game.          

 @Brook Alumni - I am not at all afraid to speak my mind about the truth but being that in the 1st, 3rd, & 4th quarters our kids just played bad ball. The Running Back came out tip toeing, the line did not block, the quarter back was not as accurate. We had nothing to build on and say, "oh yeah we can do that". The defense did enough in the first half for us to have at least a tie going in at half if not a lead but the offense just did not have it that night. The only score we had was a risky throw thrown to Keith Corbin in the middle of 3 Spring Dekany kids. It seemed more to me guys and this is just my observation that we did not know what we could do well against that "D" and the holes where there. As I sat in the stands rooting on my son to run like he had for the past 2 weeks I had a team of about 7 Katy Taylor coaches with note pads walk pass me in the 1st quarter. They are not relying on hudl. Brook Alumni I am not disagreeing with you just to do so but I will not allow #3 to use that as an excuse. He has been told all this week that he cannot come out and allow a defense to silence him in a game, 4 or 5 plays maybe but not a game. I know that we can be vocal on this board and say some things about coaches refs reporters BISD and all that but what I must do is hold #3 accountable for what he did not do just as I cheered him in the 2 weeks prior. I understand your frustration brother but we must control what we can control.

@Yeoj - I think that the inability to go out and scout other teams is more of an issue than anything. Hudl is a help but what you see in person gives you a solid feel for the speed, pulse, strengths and tendencies of your opponent,

They are strong and run heavy (#4 #20 #29). A very thick playbook with a lot of formations and will use them all. Defensively they are good but there will be holes and passing routes open. Our kids will have to be discipline but hungry.

I think that the QB and RB is 2 of the 3 Seniors and both were at the top of the division last year.

@Prep - I not surprised at how close this game was revisit my post on the CHS vs PAM prediction thread. I told yall that those LB's for the Jags were better than what the outcome was for Week 1! I thought Central would have a little more offense. 

@mightymouse - That could be true but a lot of what Demarcus done to the Jaguars was technique! He made all of the right reads in the beginning and shrunk himself as he got to the line and then exploded to daylight, something we have worked on all summer. Don't doubt Corey one bit he is a man child but he is best once his motor get's going. There is a reason why my man runs the 200 and won state in it, his top speed is sicker than the Plague! Hey @GOAT that was my bad! The way you wrote it made it seemed like you was saying that he was a nobody. So I was just telling you that I have talked to Kenny Ray who raved about him after watching him gash LP for 125 yards last year and have talked to Corey who is good friends with D when they are not playing each other and he told me that he had been playing against D since the 7th grade and was cool with him. I clearly was out of line and a bit protective of him because of the beating that he has taken (simply forgotten) but he is tough as nails and he will eat this year!
