  1. BS POST!!! Anything you do repetitively will make you better at it. H - D you sound like Allen Iverson when he said, practice, we talking bout practice!!!! I will admit at first I did not like it until I coached my kids one summer. When the season came my 8th grade son played with a lot of poise in the pocket and delivered some balls when he knew he would get hit because we worked on a 4 second rule to get rid of the ball. He also knew who he could trust in a 3rd and whatever situation since he shared the QB duties with another talented kid who could run. Data can be misleading...... on paper the Dallas Cowboys are better than 7 - 9 or 8 -8, and the Heat should when every night, or the Yankees should when the pendant every year. Peyton Manning is in my mind the best that ever did it and he practices like it is imperative to do so. There was an article out about a month ago where other regions where complaining about our (Texas) all year round football mentality and said that is why they cannot compete with us in this region because of our 7 on 7 programs.

  2. Hey, guys have your opinion but it does help with timing, route running, and QB/WR familiarity. Also, it helps with 1 on 1 drills for when the kids go to camps. Look at how well young Michael Jaquet played this past season with Mitchell and Beard. I do know personally that Isaac Aubrey was a lot better with his touch. Before 7 on 7 he was over throwing guys buy 10 yards and lets not forget that nice QB and receiver combo at PNG.  They also got better. Those kids in Orange seem to compete every year.  I know Casey personally and he will help you with ideas for your area if you would like to compete. The only downside in 7 on 7 is some of the fields that some choose to play on be uneven and not well kept. It costed my son his sophomore year.

  3. Alexis or Crossover as I call her lives about 4 houses down from me and this young lady is the truth!!! I can tell you that she and her parents are all in. She works tirelessly with that basketball. I hear that pounding of the basketball a lot while sitting on my front porch. She don't get to do a lot of mingling or hanging out but every once in a while she come down the street and whoop with my boys. She has as pure a shot as anyone that has come out of this area and loves to take you off the dribble with the right or left. Her game is complete but not completely honed however I am sure it will be as she continue to work with great ex players like Moochie Norris. Her little sister Ashari is also good for her age! I also thought that she would end up at one of the big schools but her mother worked very hard to get her into Kelly initially and then worked to get her into Legacy. So, I can safely say after talking to Alexis that she will stay at Legacy, There is just too much that goes on with little girls in the big schools. I commend her mother for making a choice and sticking with it.

  4. Cougar14 I thank you for responding however there's a process I believe that the senior should get the bulk of the PT. It wasn't a running back in Westbrook's district or in our area that could have taken Justin's spot. The kid was just that good! Hervey is a great kid and is an awesome running back from 2 great parents and I would have hated if my son would have taken his senior year from him. I am Pro-Kids and want to see as many of our Southeast Texas kids get out of hear and make something of themselves. I am a Central Alum and want Westbrook, Central, and Ozen to be successful. This was in the past and still is the football capital of the world!!!

  5. I understand FWCoach but just go and ask the coaches and all of the people that have coached him or taught him. I am his father and my feelings will not get hurt after asking you your opinion Sir. I have been reading you guys" posts for about a year and seen nothing about him. He had 5 TD's and 2 TD's he threw for this year. I do challenge you just to see him and I can guarantee you will be impressed. Just as Mike Jinks running back coach for Texas Tech was when he walked over to me this past summer and ask me was #209 my son or when Jeff Shinn from Mary Hardin Baylor called him by name after camping with them and said have anyone offered you yet. I guess guys I am simply asking if I am expecting too much out of this process? Just a concerned dad about the process not at all in his abilities!!! I totally love and respect the opinions on this board.
