winwin reacted to Who That in Jim Hick's RCSSports HoopsGiving Classic
Yeah I know lol I just had to say it... This is really a great game for my Tiger's starting off the season with actually the #1 team in Tapp's 6A . Couldn't ask for a better game. They are ready to play tho" it's going to be a good one.

Concordia knocked off Dallas Bishop Lynch and Prestonwood. So they will move up from number 2 to number one in the state in TAPPS 6A. They are very smart and have shooters all over the place. If you play aggressive man defense they will pick it apart.

Thing is this Silsbee team has two starters that can shoot....now that doesn’t mean I am banking on a win but I won’t count it out, the thing that is a big concern is depth at this point. This will be an uphill battle for my Tigers but it’s one we welcome!

Not to pile on, but the NBA isn't a sport. Its a show, thus no coaching needed

No, Jeff McInnis can coach because he’s flat out a GREAT, not good, GREAT coach. Anyone associated with the game, that KNOWS the game and has seen one of his teams will tell you that. Mike Rice can flat out coach and has coached high D1. Probably throwing basketballs at his players wasn’t the best choice. Ironically, his players love him. And George Zedan can coach because he was one of the winningest HS coaches in the state of California during his stint there. Tim Legler, oh nvm
The funnier topic is someone on a local message board reserving judgment for a particular player when successful high D1 college coaches have already given their opinions via offers (i.e., Kelvin Sampson, Lon Krueger, Billy Kennedy, etc.). But I suppose we assume they know what they are doing because they’ve coached at OU, A&M, U of H, UNLV, etc. But we all await the most important evaluation of all...

winwin reacted to Mamba in Central Jaguar Basketball peeps
I think they were interpreting as if no one would play them some of you are so quick to judge. I believe there was a mix up for the Aldine tournament so they were looking for a game but as you stated schedules are already done. They’ll be fine just gives them more time to work on some things ,practice never hurt anyone.

winwin reacted to Bear Cave in LC-M hosts PN-G for Season Opener
Hunter Gonzalez's group never got in the playoffs. Jordan Wells' group got in the next year as a four seed and lost in the first round to Crosby. We haven't had a team win district since that '99 group, but are working to get back to that level.
As to Jason Throop, he always put on a show. Hoping this year's team can be that fun to watch!

I can almost guarantee you that it wasn't that no one wouldn't play them, but rather couldn't play them. Most of the schedules have been set now for weeks and it's virtually impossible to move games around.

winwin reacted to TxHoops in Texas A&M Offer to Nederland's Hayden Hefner
To put in perspective, Jakobe Dill averaged I believe around 17 or 18 ppg on the 16u UAA circuit before his junior year. He was district mvp and Super Gold Player of the Year. And he would tell you every school game he played (including the gem he had against Silsbee) was child’s play compared to playing the dogs out of Philly, Baltimore, NYC, etc.

Head coach is a great guy and leader. This was just kids posting kid stuff on twitter. I wouldnt judge the program by that tweet.

This young man is the real deal. He always has been! He played in my summer organization from 5th-8th grade. Wonderful young man, great family!

You have to forgive Soulja. He is clueless on this particular subject.
I may not like aau ball and joke about it on here, but I do recognize and respect certain summer circuits these kids play. I agree, Hefner faced much better overall talent playing UAA and the coaches on that circuit are far from "shoe salesmen".
Anything that Central, Memorial or Ozen throws at Hefner, including the coaching strategies, he has already seen as good or better.
I guess the question is, why be negative or question his ability or why he is getting offers, in the first place? And why bring up anything about eligibility?
