Anyone have the quarterback stats for this game??

So next week may be the last football game played at EC on natural grass.....

Silcox picked off Graylon Arnold of Kountze 3 times Friday night. Not sure of his season stats but he has tons of tackles each week for EC's defense that has only given up 26 total points this year.

That was a total domination of the line of scrimmage. Looked the HF d-line was on skates. What's going on over there at HF?  This group of seniors were pretty salty just a few years ago....

Just curious as to the significance of the 1990 team?  I watched them play several games that year and they had a decent playoff run.  Has HF started celebrating 25th anniversary teams every year?  EC had a some players that didn't dress out against Tarkington due to injuries.  Silcox being one of them.  Anyone know if HF and EC will be full strength come Friday night?

I've been watching football in the area for a long time and I can say this.... There is WAY too many athletes in Beaumont to keep getting beat down by Nederland and PNG.  Too many coaching changes.  Not enough community support.  Who keeps hiring these coaches that no one likes???  Just keep in mind when you hire a new coach it takes time for him to get his program running.  And if you don't support the coaches, the kids will not believe in them either.  I'm predicting WB to win by 17 because I think they will dominate the line of scrimmage.

I was at the meet and there are several answers to your question.  First off many kids don't run track because they "don't want to".  Back in the day you ran track if you were in athletics.  This was a small school meet and 3 of the schools still have basketball teams in the playoffs so they didn't have most of their faster athletes at the meet. My son ran the mile at around 9pm.  It was about 40 degrees with about a 15 mile an hour wind.  Several schools had left by then.  The mile relay was after the mile.  So the results were skewed to say the least.  Overall times in track now are much faster than they were in 1976.  They set new records each year at the State Track Meet.

Some of you guys are not to Be Taken Serious...Buna and Kirbyville are in a Whole different category than The rest of the District...EC is not good enough to beat niether

We will see about that on Friday night.  We will show up on Friday and play football.  Our coaches coach well and our players play hard and believe in themselves.  It is a recipe that has worked well for 20 years.  I guess that is why you don't see many EC fans talking trash on here and promising that we will beat the brakes off of our opponent.  I understand that you are excited because Buna has a pretty good team this year and you havn't enjoyed an overly high amount of success lately in football.  I would be remissed if it didn't tell you to keep winning year in and year out and you will learn how to do it gratiously.  Now get back to class boy before the tardy bell rings.

Anyone have the individual and team results from the district 23 3A XC district meet that was at Wildwood?  That is the Anahuac, Buna, Deweyville, East Chambers, Hardin, Kirbyville, Kountze, and Warren district.

Not to stir up anything, but just because a person states their opinion on here about the score or how they think it will turn out is not necessarily smack talk or "run off at the mouth". Also it does not mean they don't know how to handle it a little success. I took Cat's comment as he thought there would be more discussion "not smack talk" about the upcoming game and how people felt the outcome will be of the game. There was not many EC fans to begin with posting anything about their thoughts about either team. Just my opinion. 

Goodluck to all the coaches and players in this one for Tarkington and EC. Going to be a good one. Like Socrates said it will be a good test for the Longhorns.

Trust me I wasn't talking about you or any of the Tarkington fans.  If you read many of the threads on here you will see a few people that talk about their team kicking everyone's butt and so on and on and on and on.  In our district we cannot hardly "have any discussion" without some of these guys taking over the thread with 20 pages of posts about how they are gonna beat everyone down.  I haven't seen Tarkington play in several years.  Our team is not very big this year but we have some speed and our kids will always play hard.  We are proud of our team and coaching staff because of the way they play and act on and off the field.  What is Tarkington looking like this year??

I guess that depends on how you define success.  Usually make it to the second or third round of the playoffs.

We read the board but don't post too much.  Rather do our thing on the field.  We've been in the playoffs for close to 20 years in a row so there is no need to constantly run off  at the mouth like a few of the posters on here do.  I guess they are just now seeing some success with their program and don't know how to handle it.  As far as predictions go, I think EC has too much speed for Tarkington and will get the win.  I don't think any team will go unbeaten this year in our district.

How many meets can you be in during the cross country season?  UIL site says 7.  Does that count district, regionals, and state??

How many meets can a team enter per the UIL not counting District, Regionals, and State?

Do you have more info?  How was the scrimmage format?  Did the 1s go against the 1s for a certain amount of plays and then the 2s go against the 2s or was it a live scrimmage?

Did anyone attend the EC vs Kelly scrimage?  How did it go?
