Anyone know his credentials, other than going 0-10 in Jacksonville last year.
He has also served as a defensive coordinator at Mount Pleasant, Livingston, Cleveland and Nacogdoches.
This will be his second head coaching opportunity, he was once the AD/Football Coach at Luling High School.
Prior to his time in Texas high school football, Waldie was an defensive coordinator and assistant coach at Bethany College in Kansas, Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas and Kansas Wesleyan, Salina, Kansas. -
They'll do what they always do.....win....
Well crap.
If Evans would of known Newton never loses no way he would of scheduled 'em.
Lol -
Just another year with another d1 talent and looking to win a state title , next year is the year we are worried about this team is loaded with experience.
I hear ya. Those seniors to be we're all sophomores a few years ago and they were good then.
This is the first yr in a while we've had multiple D1 talent.
LB/S will go somewhere.
Two WRs will.
QB will.
CB will.
We are planning on dressing out 60. No one will start both ways but will get PT.
We'll see how that goes. -
One thing I failed to mention.......
Evans uses a lot of stuff he got from Barbay. So the traps, tosses, play action ..ect, is something they've seen before and can get a true look in practice.
The "wrinkles" Newton has added isn't something that's gone unseen either.
This game, no-doubt, will be a battle and will be known as "The game that should of been." -
No doubt.
Traditionally, over the years, that type of offense gives Tatum trouble. Not something I would want to face in week 1.
Will be scrimmaging two run based teams but they will have nothing like Newton has though. -
It seems that the Eagles lost a lot last season but they're Newton (reloads)..
Who all they got coming back? How many OL?
Just trying to get a early gauge with them coming up here in week 1. -
Please point out what Region III or IV DII team will beat WO-S this coming season.

It speaks a lot about your little league program when the high school coaches allow your player to call (or change) their plays on the field.
Lol -
If you want to know who will start just pay attention to 7 on 7. It is pretty simple.
That's true in most cases but not all, at least around here. -
7th Grade games last about 50 min. after it's all said and done. Not very much playing time for the amount of players, but some schools have good coaching but the majority in my area does not. You see it when kids enter into high school and they don't know proper techniques & formations. Majority of the kids who came through good little league programs are starters for their h.s. teams and contribute much.
Where do you coach little league at? -
If you tell 100 7th grade boys that your gonna spend a year just conditioning and training with no real competition, 50 will tell you to shove it! Meaning they will wait till 8th grade to take the Athletics period. So it's a waste. If its really about teaching proper technique and conditioning, why not start that in sixth grade. At least then the sixth graders will feel like they are a part of the program.
We do that here with our sixth graders. -
Why would you drop 7th grade football... How do you expect the high school teams to be any good if they don't play together through middle school?
They will still be playing together.
Just doing it a different way. -
I don't see anything wrong with it.
It's taking some backlash around the area though. -
Stadium isn't huge by no means but it has a pretty good atmosphere.,
Eagleborn looking forward to seeing y'all's stadium first game of the year, this is definitely a change in preseason on for us
Three-story brick press box, coliseum backdrop behind home stands, track complex and indoor behind visitor stands.
Not a bad place to watch a game.[attachment=44:image.jpg] -
Stadiums are one thing Facilities are everything. .....
Video room with stadium seating. Seats 100
Five locker rooms, each with 80" slide screens, two 42" flat screens, xbox360... Varsity room has shoe dryers.
A study hall with laptops.
Three coaches offices and a kitchen between two of them.
Hot tub, ice bath whirl pool room.
The "little" weight room. Not the one that was featured in sales add in DCTF a few years ago.
Misc. equipment room and laundry room stuff.
Signed, Tatum's HS football field house. -
As a whole, The schools you name .Still no comparison To Carthage Facilities. ...
Disagree. Have you seen the facilities in Tatum? Yea Carthage has 25 more yards and a bigger video screen but that's about the only things they have better than Tatum. -
Here's a list of teams heading to Tatum this week. Has some SETx flavor to it. Not 100% sure if it's boys or girls or both.
Times will be FAT.
Burkeville
Dekalb
Gilmer
Henderson
Jasper
Karnack
Kilgore
Kountze
Longview

No, they always went 11 on 11 in practice. LolDid Dan Fouts, Jim Kelly, or any number of great NFL QBs play 7on7?
All I'm saying is that you don't need 7on7 to be successful. -
boy yall sure can blow a simple question way out of proportion. i just asked if anyone had won state that had also won the 7 on 7 tournament. im not stating that it isnt beneificial, i said i dont put much stock into it unless all 11 are on the field. This doesnt help your beef on both sides of the ball, like i said it is for the skills people and with timing. i understand it helps with timing between qb and wideouts, and on Defense with the coverages. What im trying to ask was a simple question, he gave me an answer but it wasnt what i asked. You can toot your horns all you want i just asked a simple question. I remember a local team around here not sure who it was, made it a long ways in the 7 on 7, got their hopes up and didnt do too good come season time. that is just an example of why i asked the question.
Heres a link to the 7on7 state champs.

You'll notice there are some Ted on there that have also won a UIL state title. -
Great points! I've also seen some Slot T offenses doing 7v7 to get extra reps with their timing of fakes, footwork 'and passing' with their style of offense. They are not doing it to 'win' a 7v7 game and they don't try to compete in SQTs. They are doing it because it's a heck of a lot better than not doing it. Plain and simple. It's the little things.
Celina comes to mind. -
Eagle gets it! Good post!
I think it's great. This will be the first year we are going to participate in SQTs. Hosting a non-SQT tournament this year as a fundraiser to help fund the SQTs and possible state. Also have local businesses willing to help out if needed.
Usually do two normal tournaments and the Longview league. Won the Longview league past two years.
Organization is key for us. Have 4/5 guys helping out. Few players that have either been in the NFL or is still currently in the NFL. Few others that are close to the program. None of which have a personal agenda.
Meet with the HS coaches before it all gets started then have a meeting with the HS coaches and players. Gets the point across.
Like I stated earlier, organization is key. -
7on7 needs HS coaches involved.
Don't need football to be like AAU has done hoops and it's heading that direction now. -
No, it's the real LSU.
Can add Mussissippi State as well. They just extended an offer. -
Splendora is going to be ugly. I cant believe they scheduled SA. Splendora has too much for a school with 185 kids.
There will be lots of points scored... By both teams.
