It was a ugly game.. Gilmer is a machine but LE game them about 21 points..... Un-caused turnovers, snapping over QBs head... Bad stuff....

 

In two weeks Gilmer comes to the Nest.... 

and people were still picking newton.

 

Truth is Tatum should of won by more. At least 3 TDs more. 

I was trying to figure out why people were actually picking newton in the pick ems

 

I even mentioned something like that in the other thread....

Kirbyville fan- "hahaha we beat y'all 77-0.."

 

Newton fan- "What???"

 

Kirbyvile fan- "I SAID WE BEAT Y'ALL 77-0.."

 

Newton fan- "Hang, I'll come in there where I can hear you."

Newton fan- "I was in the trophy case, you know the place where the state championship trophies are kept.."

Tatum got lucky in the playoffs against Kountze last year... Jkjk lol

I'm like you..... I hardly ever predict scores and when a game involves Tatum I hardly ever say they will win.

I was kidding. We will pass. Run to pass ratio will be something like 60/40.....on the season as a whole.

Doing some things this year that Evans has never done in his 20 years as a head coach. Will be interesting.

Who is this kirbyville people are referring to?

I don't know enough about your players size or talent to really make much judgement. I know tradition. Tatum has a winning program that is proven and will be a well coached team. Newton is much the same. Generally Newton uses the pre-district games trying to find personnel to play in certain rolls. Your good athletes are mixed in with talented athletes. Do to our limited numbers the amount of rest for offensive and defensive units becomes key. I hope we will be competitive, but traveling that far this early in the year, I would be hard pressed to make a "We're gonna dominate" statement for sure! Tatum's passing attack somewhat worries me. We have good defensive line, some new blood at linebacker and in the secondary. Don't ever know when one blown assignment will turn to a td with inexperience. Should be interesting. :)

Players size? We ain't got no size.

Passing game? Lol Andy Evans is our coach. So that's that.

I will say one thing in looking forward to this season is being two-platooned. But maybe not completely this week. If QB1 don't play that will shake some things up.
