Jack's daughter is a Senior. She  and her sister both played for Lumberton for the past few years. His wife lives in Orange area so making a move would be easy.  Also, his stars are gone after this year and its going to be a hard year next year.  Get out while your on top.

His stars are gone after this year? Lumberton will compete for district championship again this year. They are losing Hannah Holt and his daughter to graduation this year. Alex Sellers (district Offensive player of the year) will be a senior next year, Megan Wilkinson (1st team All district) and Brianna Jones will be Jr's and then they will have 5 sophomores that were on Varsity as freshman this year.

    Lumberton was 29-4 this year

I don't see a thread on this forum started on Feb 26.  Maybe it's my browser.  What web browser are you using?

Jacks trouble with parents - very rude.  Non renewal.

Nederland - Nobles PNG/BC, BradleyBC/OF, DuncanBC and Jacks Ltown.

Jacks on experience, Bradley on potential and Duncan on professionalism and experience.  Nobles- well whatever

I have absolutely no idea what you are saying in this post.

  3. Jacks probably doesn't help his team out yelling at the refs from the opening tip off either and Jacks is known for having girls on his team that he just uses to be aggressive and foul the other team. I would like to see the box score on attempts and misses with both shots and free throws. That tells you who controls the tempo of the game. Plus like JP said, you make one free throw and you win the game and no mention of the refs is ever made on here.

Why port neches girls 8th grade didn't play in the Vincent tournament this year. They competed wit smiths seventh grade team in tourney. Was looking forward to playing them this year. Very well coached team. Oh well c them next year freshman team. Go jags

JP, I don't have a clue why we didn't play at Vincent tourney this year. They played in a tournament in Sulpher, LA that may have replaced the Vincent. Smith had a great team last year as well. Only loss we had last year. Looking forward to playing against that group in the future and JP contact me if you have a girl that plays with that Smith Squad. Would love to team up with those girls and play some select basketball with GTE this summer.

Comeaux  WILL NOT stand for it.  Is there a PNG girl that starts Varsity BB and VB?   She wont let them cheer and play VB - from what I am told.

There is one girl this year that plays both. The cheerleading and Volleyball is probably like that everywhere because of the conflict with Cheering on Friday Nights and playing volleyball on Friday nights. I just hope this group of girls will stick with Basketball in High School, they are a special group of athletes. Probably wont happen due to girls playing other sports, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. PNG Girls Varsity BB has never made the playoffs, so would be really cool to see that happen. Although the UIL just made that more difficult today including PAM in 22-5A along with Central, Ozen and Lumberton.

  5. I know you guys are talking Boys middle school, but an impressive stat from the girls side of basketball is the PN middle school 8th grade team has out scored their district opponents 473-88 in the 11 district games over the past two years. They have one more game tomorrow night at home to close out a fun two seasons. Hope they can continue on in to High School and be the first ever PNG varsity girls basketball team to make the playoffs.

They avg 43 points a game and allowed only 8 points a game. With every game having a running clock the entire second half. Pretty impressive ladies, keep it up!

  6. From an outsider looking in and not seeing or talking to anybody that was at the game, I am just looking at the box scores and the Central outscored Lumberton 16-11 in the 1st and 4th Qtr's and 19-14 in the 2nd Qtr. Lumberton won the 3rd qtr in a big way 25-10. I would say Central played consistently better than Lumberton throughout the majority of the game. It's always easy to blame the refs after a tough loss and never looks good for the team blaming the refs. Was it the refs fault Lumberton outscored Central 25-10 in the 3rd Qtr? Central also beat Lumberton in the first district meeting between the teams at Lumberton. I would say Central is the better team or the better coached team. If Central played more aggressive and the refs allowed the aggressive play to happen then Lumberton should have been more aggressive or used Central's aggressive play against them.

  7. That is why I said three years. There is a freshman this year that is a nice solid player, the 8th grade group is solid and has a lot of height and speed with some good shooters, not sure about the 7th grade, but when the girl I am talking about gets to be a freshman (she has been playing with this group for three or four years now) she is going to be the missing piece and they will make a nice run deep into the playoffs.
