LISD has plenty of problems other than losing football games I am a lifelong resident, former football player and graduate of Lumberton I will openely say that my son WILL NOT attend school there unless alot of drastic changes are made. Good luck to Coach Creuder and even more luck to whoever replaces him because he will sure need it in this town

LTrain, I'm not criticizing your post because it sounds like a fair, honest and possibly true statement about LISD.  My question is, Do you feel like these same problems don't exist at most other school districts?  Let's just say for a minute that, in your opinion, nothing changes in LISD, which school district or private school system would you enroll your son in?  Again, not trying to start an argument or sling mud at any one school district.  I'm really just curious.

I'm still interested in a response.  But while we wait, word on the street in Lumberton is that they had 22 applicants for the AD/FB Head coach position.  I heard the list was then narrowed down to 5.  Any ideas/guesses as to who the 5 are and what the next steps are for Lumberton in making a selection?  And this may be a dumb question but... how is the selection normally made?  Is it a combination of the Super and the board?  Is it just the super?  Maybe someone can shed some light?
2. Nederland's Offense will be the reason, I believe, they go undefeated in District.  What they lost on defense won't hurt them bad enough to be seen until the playoffs begin.  Maybe by then, some of those holes will be filled with new Def studs.
Vidor will be tough but not tough enough to take Ned.  I think Ned is Vidor's only district loss this year.
I don't think PNG will be as good as some are hoping/predicting.  This year will be a 'little' better than last year.  Maybe one additional district win but not more than that.
Same can be said for Lumberton.  They will be better than last year but, like PNG, they are a couple years away from winning consistently
Central is my prediction to surprise a few people this year.  They won't do anything crazy like upset Nederland, but they will turn some heads, especially when they grab the #4 playoff spot.

And yeah, Summer Creek will be dominant but not against Crosby.

Coach Fackler has coached my son and never one time encouraged him to even graze the line between right and wrong...the only thing he tried to communicate was Baseball 101, good attitude, good character, good grades, and honor the game at all times. Did Coach Fackler make a mistake by not knowing with certainty the rules...Yes...Did Coach Fackler knowingly violate the rules and put his players and the months of hard work in jeopardy...No...Being the fact that this was his first year in TAPPS: Did the AD have responsibility to verify and factulize the rules, knowing he had student Athletes moving over to Legacy to participate in the baseball program...YES YES YES...The question is not with the players it's with the process, knowledge of the rules and application of the rules by ADULTS! I understand the rules and why they are in place...and I'm sure Coach Fackler and powers to be at Legacy NOW have a pretty good idea about them as well. On a better note, wow what a season for Legacy and just think how great things will be next year!
Good post.  I would guess that your statements are both fair and accurate.  A couple of mistakes were made but not with bad intent.  I don't agree that Fackler should have known.  He is a coach and that is what he is hired to do and it looks like he has done and will continue to do a fantastic job with those kids.  The mistakes that were made were responsibilities higher up than at the coaching level.  They will learn from it and get better.  But great job with the success of the program and congrats to the kids. Keep your head up and keep working hard.

This thread just goes to show you how biased this site is. The only people I try to annoy are the ones that say bad things about HJ. Mostly Silsbee... There are a couple of others from other communities but they are the ones that get on here hourly and disagree with pretty much everyone ie, mytwocents, usedtobe, lawdog.... These guys are probably 40 something, living with their mom, and still telling their grandma what they want for christmas... Probably sitting at the computer right now in warm-up pants, a half shirt, with their mustard coated fingers on the keyboard, half eaten ham samich their mom made'em, waiting on someone from HJ, HF, Lumberton or some other struggling program to show a little hope for next year... Guys, get out of your moms retirement fund, get out of her house and try to to be a productive citizen.....

I have to give it to you.  That was a pretty good post.  Made me chuckle.

Let me just say that with whatever disagreements anyone has with Edelmon, you always get the truth and he'll say it right to your face.  I respect a guy like that.  I may not agree with some things he says, but I have a lot of respect for someone as 'real' as him.  I could have dinner with a fella like that even if we didn't see eye to eye.  As for some of the folks I see him 'debating' with, I don't quite know what to think of you.  It seems you only try to build your own program up by tearing others down.  That's just mean-spirited and couldn't possibly have a good ending to it.  I couldn't share a meal with you.  You'd probably spit in my food when I wasn't looking but you wouldn't do it to my face.
I don't think HJ will disappoint this year.  I don't know that they will beat Silsbee but you cause 4 or 5 turnovers and they just might.  They will certainly be competitive in every game and that should make for an enjoyable season for players, coaches, fans on both sides of the fields.  More successful programs and better competition in our area helps everyone get better and that's what its all about.  Good luck to all the teams this year.
Now back to voting.  Good thread by the way

Morse won't even be in the mix...Walker is outstanding!

LOL...what family member are you!? first post so happen too.... That coach has two options... 1. Go with the junior QB that is 5'7" 150 lbs, 2. Go with a sophmore QB that is 6' 190 lbs? Both threw the ball very well and both run the same 40 time. I think it will be a good competition with the one who moves the offense the best winning the starting job. A lot of young talent on that team next year. I think both will be on the field no matter what.  8)
What do these boys run in the 40?  I've seen both run and I wouldn't guess any lower than 4.7

Go to Round Rock in June and watch the four teams from each division's pitching staffs.  You won't see, probably, two pitchers during the whole three days that will hit 90mph on a radar gun.  That doesn't mean that many of them can't rare back and hit 90.  They just don't....They PITCH.
Amen to that.  Good post.
8. They were probably new student/athletes that went to Legacy after new coach arrived.

Another question I have is, 'What happens to San Antonio St. Gerard that Legacy just beat 7-0 in the previous round.'  That stinks for them that they were eliminated by a team with ineligible players.

And to be honest, I thought this was only a UIL rule used in public schools.  Good for TAPPS for enforcing this kind of rule in the private schools.  Helps level the playing field for other private schools that don't recruit.

Are these all players who are committed so far to playing?  Looks like all 8 teams are full unless some players cancel.  Is that correct?

From the beaumont enterprise  ;D

Young boys raced out into the grass and gravel-filled parking lot for the chance at foul balls that clanked off unsuspecting car hoods.

The twine hung behind home plate did not reach high enough to keep many foul tips within the park.

Fans overflowed from the limited, rust-stained bleachers to standing along the first and third baselines beyond the dugouts.

One of two rows of lights in the outfield was out.

The conditions at Dayton were not ideal for Nederland in a 2-0 loss Thursday night and neither was the Bulldogs' play.

"Embarrassing, just embarrassing," one Nederland player repeated to himself as he gathered his things after the opening round Game 1 defeat.

The Bulldogs recorded six hits through the first four innings, but did not manage a hit off Dayton junior pitcher Kevin Roe in the final three frames. Hope-filled chances were ultimately tarnished.

"We had opportunities, we just didn't get the big hit," Nederland coach Cody Robbins said. "I thought Mitchell Sanderson pitched well and gave us an opportunity to win."

The Bulldogs' next opportunity is Game 2, 7 p.m. today at Nederland. Game 3, if necessary, is 1 p.m. Saturday at Nederland.

Wow. Not too impressed with the Dayton facilities I see.
One thing is for sure, the electrician is going to be ticked off they didn't mention his speakers and speaker wire hanging from chain in the corner of the dug-outs.......  ;D ;D ;D

Poor Nederland, that dang rust must have been a real distration. As for the net being too low, my suggestion is to hit the ball in the other direction, or at least don't be so foolish to park you car in foul ball territory.  Freaking halarious....... Got to love redneck newspapers....  :o :o :o
Smokin baby, that is funny and very true.  :)
I've heard a lot about how great of a hitting team Nederland was.  Were they overrated or did the pitcher just do a phenomenal job?  We could have an answer to that question tonight.

If I was a teacher and none of my kids passed TAKS or STARR for a couple of years, would I still be able to teach because I was a good guy?  If I was a car/coin/anything salesman and did not sell anything for a while, would I still get paid a draw for being a good guy?  Absolutely not.  Nobody said anything about is character or disgraced him in any way, it is just time for a change and let someone else try and turn it around.  But, it was not just him, several on the staff as well should hang it up in my opinion.
Good post.  I think it is important for Lumberton to embrace and support the new AD/coach that is brought in and preach the same thing to their kids.  Let the new guy do his thing and everybody get on board.  For all you Cowboy fans that loved Tom Landry, it was the end of the world when Jerry Jones fired Landry.  Even though you continue to hate Jerry Jones (and you should) you still supported the team and they went on to win a few super bowls.  Everyone will agree that the same result would not have happened with Tom Landry, but Landry was still a great coach, great man, etc.  If you support your school, support your coaches and teach your kids to do the same, I think you will have bright days ahead of you.

I understand the next year bull.... But we are just trying to stay on the topic 94...... You see, if your not a Silsbee or Nederland fan, you get banned for not staying on topic.... You should be ok though, you root for an under-rated, loves to kiss your sister, under acheiving, ok with 2nd place, Silsbee team...

I don't get it.  Are you complimenting him?  I thought muckrakers were good.  Don't they expose wrongdoings, filth, corruption, scams, etc.
