  1. All I'm saying is I have never heard of any lawsuit regarding officiating in any game. Also, your statement about a payoff has absolutely ZERO to do with the complaints from Austin LBJ and the NAACP. Their complaints are based on alleged racial bias by the officials.
  2. Any potential lawsuit has no merit. Do you know how many basketball games I've seen with 40 foul calls, 30 of those against one team? I don't know either, but its quite a few. I can tell you how many lawsuits resulted out of those games, zero. Before anyone gets smart, yes I know we're talking about a football game on this thread, but its the same premise.
  3. So, I watched the video of the link attached in LC-M's post. The man representing the NAACP specifically said "people" were saying racial slurs. He did not say officials. In a complaint based mostly on the way the game was officiated, one would have to think if the officials were the "people" throwing out racial slurs, this would have most certainly been mentioned.
  4. Anyone wanting an entire team to be punished for one player's illegal actions is being combative by the nature of the comment. It's really just like saying if I go out and drive drunk, run a red light and hit another car, causing the death of the other driver, then my family should be punished the same as I would be. It just doesn't make good sense. (AAW, I read your comment and point taken, thank you.)
  5. Some of these comments are absolutely insane. This kid unfortunately committed a crime. He should be punished accordingly. However, no one else on the team should be punished for his actions. That's ridiculous. Those of you comparing his actions to a holding penalty are comparing apples and oranges. You're comparing breaking the law to a holding penalty. Not even close to the same thing. The school district caved to the fake angry mobs and keyboard warriors like a few of you on this thread.
  6. You're probably right, but it did have an effect on the outcome of a high school football game. Either way, these kinds of things will be talked about wherever its located at on here.
  7. He was watching from the parking lot. Please read the article in the link with the original post.
  8. I'll counter by saying the school officials that made the unnecessary decision are the real jackasses. They did not have to do what they did. It was done out of pure animosity, hatred, and a hunger for whatever power the school officials feel they gained by taking that action. The guy went to the parking lot for crying out loud.
  9. Why? Please explain how watching a game alone from a parking lot, apparently with no one else around with the exception of school officials who followed the dad to harass him, makes the dad an idiot? He was not allowed entrance to the game, and went to the parking lot to watch. Wearing a mask in a parking lot is the equivalent to wearing a mask alone in your car.
  10. Please read the article.. He wasn't allowed inside the stadium without a mask. That's just fine. Then he was watching alone from a distance and the game was still cancelled at halftime? This is a PRIME example of a power grab and over-reach by a petty school official. I get it if the guy was in the stands, he wasn't.
  11. The only thing a ranking can be based on in HS football this early in a season, which is performance from the previous season. I do not disagree that any loss should move any team down some, but the competition a team plays matters when considering the rankings as well. A ranked 3A D2 team getting beaten up on by a ranked 4A D2 team shouldn't bear as much weight as playing a weaker team. If that makes sense? That's just my opinion on the subject. I also felt like the original question was taking a shot at Newton as well, which I thought was kind of silly considering, well, they're Newton.
  12. I don't make the rankings, but apparently you are a fortune teller. No, if they get beat like that 3 weeks in a row they will probably not be in the top 5 any longer. However, none of those games have any bearing on how Newton would fare against the other teams ranked in the top 5 in Newton's classification. I'd say no 3A D2 team in the top 10 would do well against any of the teams Newton will play during this 3 week stretch.
  13. Your point is moot. They played up in classification against a ranked team. It has no bearing on whether or not Newton could beat other teams in the top 5 of their own classification.
  14. Irrelevant. If they lost to an unranked, average 4A D2 school, I could understand your "confusion." Your opponent matters.
  15. Common sense would tell you that they lost to a team in a higher classification, that is also ranked in the top 10.
  16. H-F is a good football team, but they most certainly cannot match EC's speed.
  17. I liked his post so much I gave your post liking his post a like too!
  18. There's definitely some sort of disconnect with the football kids for some reason. Baseball doesn't have a problem playing for him though. That's where it confuses me. I know football and baseball are two vastly different sports, but motivation and getting kids to play for you isn't any different between the two. (At least IMO)
  19. That's certainly a possibility. However, the majority of complaints I've heard about Jones are: 1. He expects too much. 2. He's too hard on the kids. Also, Kirbyville hasn't had much talent in the last few years. That's certainly part of it.
  20. I've seen some comments on here saying Jones "bit off too much", and "I haven't heard anything good." If "biting off too much" means holding young men accountable, and EXPECTING them to work hard everyday is "biting off too much" then so be it. If "not hearing anything good" means little Johnny's parents are pissed off because Coach Jones is mean and requires too much of little Johnny then so be it. It's a shame people act this way when someone in charge expects something of them or their children.
  21. The Northeast has had the worst results with the virus by a landslide. That's not really debatable. This Kashkari guy has a ridiculous take IMO.
