Yep. I think that started in 1999. I graduated in 1998 so that's what I remember.

I left out WOS.

In the late 90's, 20-4A was Bridge City, PNG, Nederland, PA Lincoln, LCM, Lumberton, and Vidor. I might be leaving one out, but those 7 for sure.

I think WOS wins a close one. Although it’s really tough to beat a good team twice in the same season.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s absolutely pathetic that grown men get on here to bash the Lumberton football program and the kids. My question is for what? Lumberton is a program that has historically struggled. It’s a huge accomplishment for Lumberton to get to the 2nd round of the playoffs in consecutive seasons. Great season for the Raiders. They got beat by a team who quite possibly will be holding up the trophy as state champs at the end of the season.

They’re one of the best teams in the state in 4a, might be the best. We will find out soon enough.

Pay that guy no attention. He’s going to act like Lumberton scheduled Evadale instead of both teams getting together to play a game because both of their respective games were cancelled due to travel during Imelda. He just wants to bash Lumberton, and has no clue what he’s talking about.

I think they just try to cover every scenario as far as what teams will play and the venue a week ahead of time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most teams do this??

Everyone on here knows Lumberton is overmatched in this game. From the coaching staff right on down to the last player on the roster. However, they did have a little good fortune come there way for this game to end up being played in Lumberton. Stranger things have happened. That's all I'm seeing people on this thread saying. I'm just hoping they can hang around in the game for a while.

Love the Cougars, but I don't think they could match up if everyone was healthy.

I've seen Buna play several times this year. I just don't think they have enough to compete this time around. I think Diboll is a serious state championship contender.

As expected.. Orangefield is a really good football team.

Never said it wouldn’t work out better. You said it was “crappy” of them to kick onside continuously. Which I said was ridiculous to say. Especially in a game that was only 16-0 at the time.

Don’t care where you’re from. Complaining about onside kicks in a 16-0 game is a little ridiculous

This is football. It’s still a fairly close game with a playoff spot on the line. Get over it.
