Based that off a relative of mine who is a ticket broker. Certainly wasn't there so I can't argue with you on those numbers. Had NO idea tcu only has 80k living alumni. To have that kind of turnout with those numbers is crazy. And for what it's worth, heard today that TCU would be a 4 pt underdog against Alabama on a neutral site and Baylor would be a 7 pt dog. What's the line again in the Sugar Bowl?
You have to understand, pride at impact. Aggy poor compared to UT. They need that dough to pay off all the retarded raises and extensions they hand out.
Link? The truth of the matter is Texas accepted the bid regardless of opponent. THEN the sec chose arky to fill that spot. I don't blame them - they put aggy up against a team that Texas beat soundly and put Arkansas against Texas, a team anyone with vision can see was playing better at the end of the year than aggy. Spin it anyway you want - the SEC does not want to lose that game and for sure does not want to see the Horns take aggy to the shed. They made a shrewd move to make sure that didn't happen.
Agree with most all of that. But both tcu and Baylor travel poorly. Very poorly. Tickets to the Fiesta Bowl last year were literally going for $5. Tcu had a similar showing the year they played Wisconsin in the rose bowl.
Rooting and obsession are two different animals. It may not apply to you, but it definitely applies to "some." And I've rooted on aggy plenty of times. Every time they played OU...
People who try to justify the point with this argument are either being dishonest with themselves and everyone else OR too dimwitted to remember that NO ONE was discussing Tech as a possibility for the championship game. The race came down to Texas or OU and Artie voted OU. Just a bit hypocritical to bang that drum so loudly now is my point.
I wa speaking of Mack and not aggy in general. He posts as much or more about UT as A&M. But it appears that you, like most Aggies, know the shoe fits. They try to turn it around but no non-Aggie is buying it ;)
About how I would have voted. However, it is interesting that head to head is the end all, be all for Art Briles now. Cause in 2008, he voted for OU ahead of Texas which sent the Sooners to the MNC game.
