I had some questions about how good Kerwin could be at Texas and I guess still do to an extent. But I was told that he has a "wow" moment in almost every practice. The coaches are very, very high on him.

A&M's new found love for the SEC doesn't really doesn't bother me. They were searching for an identity and desperate to come from under the shadow of UT and I get that. Some are more obnoxious than others but you can say that about every school. I am torn about the prospect of them reaching the pinnacle. It's an awful lot of fun teasing them about being able to do it since the leather helmet days. On the other hand, I have Aggie friends who I love and I think I would be truly happy for them were they to experience this after years of undying loyalty. So I choose to look at it as kind of a win win. Either way, there is some gold at the end of the rainbow.

They don't teach readin' and such in Louisiana... Hint: granddaddy of them all. As for being the greatest game of all time, I believe it landed at #1 on the ESPN list. And pardon me if I also take Keith Jackson's opinion over yours. He's seen a few more games than you and wasn't relegated to a school that has to run short busses exclusively...

I drank the kool aid last time around this time too and then the beatdown in Tuscaloosa happened. The different this year, I think, is a much improved aggie defense. And there is no question they have a much improved DC in Chavis (no guesswork there, that's a fact). Enjoy yourself at this Roper. Kyle will be rockin'.

Watching the new 30 for 30, Trojan War. Brings me back to that night in Pasadena almost 10 years ago, watching the greatest college player I've ever seen put the team on his back to beat what many considered to be the "greatest college team of all time." I realize to some that seems like long ago, to me I remember it like yesterday. I suppose it is history. But history is what makes the mortal immortal. That game has gone down as one of the greatest, if not THE greatest, of all time. So, again, I can understand the animosity and jealousy. Hell I probably would be too if the roles were reversed. I am just happy I don't have to beat my chest about a mid season ranking or the promise of what maybe, someday, may come. And thankful I have a memory with my wife and friends that will last a lifetime. Two of the best trips we ever made were back to back years in sunny California in a historic stadium in the greatest bowl game of them all. And leaving that grand old game shaking our heads at the wonders we witnessed by #10 and company. So fire away. Until you've been there and experienced something like that, you couldn't conceivably understand what you're talking about anyway...

This week will tell us a lot but by the eyeball test, a&m and lsu appear to be the best two teams in that conference. Wasn't sold on Florida even before the QB suspension.

This. However, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he would turn them down. Has a really good thing going at Ole Miss and I would think with more job security.

They will be very good. I wouldn't be surprised to see a split with Silsbee again this year. Saladin, Roberts, and Parquet should all be 1st team all district-types. Need Roberts to stay healthy this year as he will be greatly needed in the paint.

To me, that is especially impressive when you've never actually been there...

If only we were in the cupcake conference of the SEC...hey anyone know what the record is this year in Big 12 vs SEC games? I know OU beat Tenn (who just beat UGA) in Knoxville and Tech beat Arkansas on the road...just curious

It helps when you can relate to one's plight, but still a classy move from a school that has been often maligned as the opposite. The Tigers and their fans were first rate this week.

would not be surprised to see the Utes in the playoff. Very good defense. Everyone has an off day. Scouts love that kid's arm and accuracy. And you don't get into Berkley if you can't read more than a defense...
