Beaumont Ozen 89 Port Arthur Memorial 65/Final
TxHoops replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
The 6A schools are going to take some lumps this year. WB is even worse. Silsbee and HJ would both be 20+ point favorites against both of them. Probably closer to 40 against the Brook. -
I hate to oversimplify but so much of football is who has the better "big 'uns" and who turns it over less. Early in the game on Saturday, I thought it was evident on both sides of the ball that our big 'uns were better than their big 'uns. Then we start turning it over and making other mistakes. IMO, the reason Urban and Saban are almost always in the picture for a championship is that their teams dominate the LOS and are the most disciplined. If you are at a so-called big time program, you have no excuse not to get the players. After that, to me it comes down to toughness and discipline.

Not the worst! We're better than Kansas jackarse..
-
Rumor has it, deal with daddy. We got to suffer through one of those during the Chris Simms years.
-
no kidding. I'm thankful we won't be bowl eligible. We might've only must 58 yards this time.

31-14 Hogs. Late 4th. Buh bye Tigers...
-
Does LSU come up with anything on their own? Name their stadium after Clemson's and steal the whole bait thing from Florida. Not surprising I guess.
-
Arkansas beating LSU like a rented mule. I miss the days of getting to play Lester Miles once a year. It was as good as a bye week.
-
That went right over my head when Buddy posted it. But you guys may have something. Could be a popular hire and this is more the kind of job Mack was talking about. Lower profile. Come get him Tigers.
-
Hi LSU fans. This would be the thread for you guys to post in. K? Thanks. We'll hang up and listen...

Oklahoma State is not very good. If OU wins tonight, I think they win out and make the playoff.
-
One game suspensions tend to not be overly serious. Any word on what they did?
-
Actually, when I used "train wreck," I was thinking more of our situation. Probably a little strong to use that on the Ags just yet.
-
Any team Texas can hang 60 on is beyond horrible ;)
-
You could beat D2 U with 11 12th men.
-
You have enough to be worried about with that train wreck of your own. We serve less kool aid in Austin.

Pretty sad when I'm not even upset after a loss. Was hoping we would because I believe I have seen enough. I think Charlie is a good guy but not a fit at all with the University of Texas. I think it's time to move on. When you are rich enough to turn down 10 million additional dollars per year in shoe money, you can certainly afford $5 million for a few years. Not to mention you probably have a handful of donors willing to soften that blow. Unfortunately, I can't imagine he is an attractive hire for Miami or anyone else at this point so you may just have to bite the bullet and pay him to leave. Just my personal opinion. End rant.

10-7 Texas after a 65 yd D'Onta Foreman TD run. It is shocking how fast that kid is at 240 lbs. He runs away from DBs when he gets in the clear.
-
What about the 3rd 5? If Sigler has the better sophomores up, he will have 10 on the bench.
-
One thing I thought was funny was the criticism that he can't guard anyone on the perimeter. If he is being asked to guard someone on the perimeter, something is wrong, even a man to man set (which Central likes to play). If a high school team can put 5 on the floor that shoot the lights out, God bless 'em (although Big Sandy might be able to). If I'm coaching the Jags, he has at least one foot in the lane at all time on the defensive end. If you are going to take it to the bucket, you go through 7-3 to get there. And Nijal and TJ will be the first to tell you from practice that it is much easier said than done.
-
That is horrible. Prayers to him and his family. Has always seemed like a good guy.
-
Good point. The last list I saw, we have 32 players in the NFL, little brother had 23. That was including this year's additions.
-
I think they bought one recently. Maybe Texas Wesleyan? They had South Texas law school for awhile but that didn't last for some reason. I can't keep up with them trying to keep up..

C'mon Charlie. Miami is really sweet and so cute. And she will make a wonderful mother some day.
