  1. I have a lot of folks who disagree with me so maybe I'm wrong. But I still think OU gets in if they win out. The FPI loves them - 3 and the highest ranked 1 loss team, although that should change after Bama's win today. They have to win at Baylor which is doable, then beat TCU at home (probable) and finish at okie lite (doable).
  2. Vandy is a good point. They hung around with Ole Miss and Florida, but got smashed by Houston.
  3. Adams is very solid and was easily the best player in his class at BISD. Devon may be the best PG at Silsbee right now (and in the district) and has a chance to be the best player in the history of the school. He has to keep working but he is that kind of talent. Keep in mind he has been playing against players 2 to 3 years older than him (and producing) his whole life. And of course, they do have the guy who is probably their overall best player (Grubbs) with them right now. I am not saying the players they are missing will not help. They will. But there is a reason their results today were very impressive. They are fielding a team without the football players that is very, very good. Whsalum raises the point that is a good one and that has been discussed before. Finding the right balance with depth of this kind (which is almost unheard of at this level) is going to be key. The good news for Tiger fans is you have a coach in Sigler who is used to managing a deep bench. It just got a lot deeper this year though.
  4. Yep. If I were predicting, I would say we lose next week at WVa, beat Tech, and lose at Baylor to finish 5-7. Needed to win at Iowa State to be bowl eligible. Could easily lose to Tech too. I don't see Charlie getting another year missing a bowl game. Could be wrong but I don't think so. Especially if Baylor delivers another one of those embarrassing losses.
  5. I am not one to rub salt in wounds. I was at the game in Austin tonight because I figured this was the last game I could pretty much be assured to see a win. No "juice" in the stadium tonight. And Texas is not a very good football team. It occurred to me tonight that for the first time in a long time, neither Texas nor A&M are likely in the top 3 teams in this state. Texas obviously, but I would probably say the Ags would be underdogs against Baylor, TCU and U of H. Never thought I would see that happen in my lifetime....
  6. I assume Deionte Thompson is redshirting?
  7. Oh I hope so. But the beauty of the game is the beatdown should remove the loser from the playoff discussion. Bama is firmly in if they win out.
  8. All of those players are very good. I think I probably did a poor job explaining my point. What I was trying to say is that with the two freshmen who are playing significant minutes, there is not a big drop off in talent with what they now vs what they will have. You can insert those 5 you mentioned and it's not like you have a big jump in productivity. That's what I mean with consistent depth.
  9. Impressive results by Silsbee today. The temptation is to say, "especially considering the players they are missing." However, that is kind of misleading. While the players playing football ALL can play, there isn't a significant drop off with what they have playing now. When you talk about their depth, it is consistent depth. The key is going to be finding a balance or flow in distributing minutes. In some ways, it is an easier coaching situation while the others are in football.
  10. Most of the time, I am just responding to something someone else said (usually something so dumb I can't let it go). I suppose I should leave more alone though. I've noticed you have trouble biting your tongue too. I've also noticed you almost never post anything negative about any school unless it's a comment on something someone else said.
  11. You mean like when our games are the highest rated of the week? By the way Mr. Pee Pee Envy, while you are spending another day reading everything you can about Texas and the Big 12, can you enlighten us on what the two most watched games in college football history have in common? We'll hang up and listen....
  12. Duke gonna have back to back #1 classes.
  13. I think he's talking about district, not state. Central was a heavy favorite to win that district without Chris IMO. Throwing in a 7'3" kid probably strengthens that position, especially when your strongest "competition" was already Charmin soft inside.
  14. I'm with you. Never dated my cousins either. Maybe both are a product of having one's eyes set too close together.
  15. OU is OU. They win out, they are in. The human element of the committee will always favor the marquee teams. Not fair, but it's the way it works. Premier historical programs will get preference over little sister schools.
  16. Agreed. Same with TCU, OSU or OU.
  17. Yeah you need to dumb it down for me. Because I had no idea what you were talking about. Conversely, I have no doubt you actually do have NO idea what we are talking about. Because of the sad little world you scamper around in, it probably seems normal. There are a litany of bad losses or unimpressive wins for all conferences. But the committee justified the Bama win in part based on the FPI. You know, that poll where the Big 12 (I.e., the conference that inhabits your dome) possesses the top 3 spots. And the poll where Baylor is ranked #1. It is comical though. Same thing last year - sec dominated the early polls and you jumped from thread to thread, slobbering all over yourself with pride because I guess you felt a vicarious accomplishment for aggy. So again, congrats little buddy
  18. Cleveland may be the worst franchise in sports. Feel sorry for Duke Johnson. Guy is dynamic when he touches it and they can't seem to figure out how to get a RB the ball. Good thing the folks there have the Cavs.
  19. The fact that you don't even see it demonstrates the depth of your delusion/obsession. That and the sheer volume of posts you make regarding the Big 12. But we all know the root of your hostility. The consistent inability of the Ags to compete in the conference would naturally make one bitter.
  20. But there aren't many teams in the GT that I would put as favorites against Silsbee regardless of classification. Or HJ for that matter. They would each be decided favorites against both of the 6A schools IMO.
  21. I agree. Not sure how Silsbee finds an answer for Pearson and Atwood. They are as big or bigger as most posts they face in 4A, with better skill sets than most all the guards they will play. Can't press them with success - plays right into their hands. As for the big man, feet are way above average, unreal for his size. Getting up and down the floor is his strength. Shocks people with his times at camps. Guess that's what growing up playing soccer does for one. I would think he has very little pressure on the offensive end. Board work and put backs will earn him plenty of stats. On the defensive end, it's really impossible to imagine how he alters the game until you face it.
  22. Stop drinking on week nights ;)
  23. I wonder if life is easier living each day, finding moral victories in the accomplishments/shortcomings of others? Do they teach that at Gomer camp? I doubt it though. Probably feels as much like a miserable loser at it appears...
  24. Yes, Vern-o and Gary are delightful...
  25. I saw JJ and Travon square off in Atlanta a few months ago. Was a great matchup. That's not the issue for SATCH. Their matchup issues aren't with Duval. Terrence Ferguson, Billy Preston, and Mark Vital?? Wayyy different stories. Could be a beatdown. Hopefully JJ can keep em in it.
